I have NEVER, nor will I ever, participated in any “pride month” activity. I’ve seen video of some of the shit that goes on at these events, and it’s just an excuse to act like complete garbage out in the open. I don’t need a staged event during a specific month to be content with the person I am. I do my best to be an upstanding member of society every day (at times I have failed, given certain circumstances…I am human), which is something to be mildly proud of. It IS one of the seven deadly ones, which these events can be an example of just why. I carry no pride for the alphabet community, mostly because of abhorrent behavior.
Bugsy, you are like most people, I think. Gay rights and gay marriage are established. There’s no need to keep throwing it in people’s faces. But LGB community is suffering because of all the trans mania. I’d guess 95% of the population will never accept it, especially where children are involved.
And now as reported in today’s UK Daily Mail, “The Davis School District in Utah has banned the bible in elementary and middle schools after a complaint by a parent.” (Too violent)
In NYC you can buy a long gun (rifle–barrel of over 16″ or a shotgun–barrel over 18″) fairly easily in NYC, but way more complicated than if you lived in any other NYS County where one needs no permit to purchase a rifle or shotgun and no fingerprinting is required. In NYC you need a rifle or shotgun permit which can be obtained with minimal hassle for a fee $140 plus $18.25 fingerprint fee and a trip to Manhattan Police Headquarters to be fingerprinted.
NYS now has special restrictions on purchasing semi-auto shotguns and rifles (even .22 LR) and shotguns that do not have full stocks.
I believe that in Maryland, one can walk into a store that sells firearms, fill out a federal form, pass an instant background check, and walk out with a rifle and/or shotgun (same definition as above).
But…. I caution EVERYBODY that is not very familiar with firearm safety to get educated before purchasing anything. You don’t want to have an Alec Baldwin situation. Talk to people in the know on what to purchase, and bring it to the range with proper instruction from someone who knows how to shoot before you actually fire.
