Patriot United News After moving from Washington state to Saudi Arabia with her devout Muslim husband, she soon found herself in the middle of a difficult custody battle.
Under Sharia law, fathers are favored to be legal guardians, and ultimately was denied custody of her 4-year-old daughter Zaina despite providing video evidence capturing her ex-husband using illegal drugs in front of their daughter. Her Westernized behavior even went against her in court as they dismissed the photos she provided that were taken back in the United States.
Sharia law holds religion above all else which explains why fathers are favored when it comes to determining legal guardianship during a divorce proceeding. This type of law is based on religious principles derived from both Quranic verses and Islamic traditions.
She was unable to provide adequate enough proof that she would make a good mother simply because she didn’t follow these strict rules while living abroad with her ex-husband (even though he was abusing drugs).
Vierra Alhaidari isn’t alone when it came to facing inequality due to Sharia law; countless Western women find themselves dealing with unfair treatment because they don’t fit into Muslim society’s standards or expectations.
FAST FORWARD to 2023: Though Bethany Vierra Alhaidari fled Saudi Arabia with her daughter in 2019, she might be forced to send her daughter back to the country due to a continuing custody battle.
Middle East Eye Bethany a 36-year-old senior fellow at the Human Rights Foundation and the Saudi case manager at The Freedom Initiative, has a US court hearing on 24 October that will decide her fate and that of her eight-year-old daughter Zaina, The Guardian reported. Her case will be heard by a three-judge appeals panel in Wenatchee, Washington, in the state where she lives.
According to Vierra Alhaidari, she has been solo parenting her since she was a baby with support from her parents. All of that can be taken away from her in one decision,” she said. “It’s hard to fathom the level of trauma a return to Saudi Arabia would have on her life, but I know her well enough to know that it would be detrimental for both of us.”
In December 2019, six years after moving to the country, Alhaidari finally made her way out of Saudi Arabia. She had divorced her husband in January 2019. She was able to get her now ex-husband’s permission to leave the kingdom to go to the US for a trip with Zaina. Once she arrived, she filed for emergency jurisdiction.
A lower court ruled in Alhaidari’s favour after she argued that Saudi Arabia’s custody and male guardianship laws violated her human rights. But the decision was then appealed by Alhaidari’s ex-husband. The case will proceed with oral presentations in October.
According to Human Rights Watch, Alhairdari could face a “serious risk of corporal punishment, lengthy imprisonment, and the death penalty” if the court rules to send Zaina back and if her mother accompanies her to Saudi Arabia. Under Saudi law, children visiting their fathers in Saudi Arabia, even when there is a custody agreement, can be prevented from leaving unless the father consents. This is true even if the child is an American citizen.
Because the guardianship system and the consequences of challenging it are “among the systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom”, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has recommended that the US State Department designate Saudi Arabia a Country of Particular Concern under the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) of 1998.
Most Muslim males who marry American women only do it for the Green Card or a visa extension so they can stay longer in the USA, in the land of milk and honey.
Of course, if she has money to spend on him that’s an added bonus.
They never LOVE them. It doesn’t matter how attractive she is. Muslim males have a very different idea and perception of attractiveness.

Not only in marrying a Saudi Muslim, the woman showed poor judgement when she actually moved to that hell hole with her child! Then again, she did well when she used their own taqqia and kitman to bring her daughter back to the United States and file there for sole custody! The husband too helped matters, being a Saudi national in addition to being a Muslim, a combo that fries ones brains. He allowed his wife to leave with their child, and this will hopefully work out to the benefit of the child. Hope she grows up and gets out of the cult.
To all non-Moslem gals, the # 1 rule for dating and/or marrying a Moslem dude is…DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!! Matter of fact, that’s the only rule.

Had a GF years ago who had a thing for a Saudi at one time. (She’d also been sexually abused by a moslem doctor in a hospital when she was young.) “He was soooooo handsome. He looked like Omar Sharif”. I asked her if she’d ever seen the Sally Field movie. She hadn’t. I told her to look him up and renew the relationship and that I was sure she’d be happy, especially if they moved to Saud.

For the record, there was actually 24 hijackers related to the 9-11 attack. I know that for a fact, because I was asked to page ALL of them at DCA airport about two months before the event happened. I counted the names because I had never been asked to page so many!!! Now the real question is this…there was 19 hijackers on the planes…who and where are the missing five!!!?
Bethany obviously didn’t do her homework. She’s also much more attractive than most non-Muslim women who marry Muslim men from what I’ve seen here in Maine. I honestly feel bad for them since they often do so out of desperation to get married and then wind up in an even worse situation.

They used former special forces guys to bring back these children who were taken to Middle East countries and taken by their fathers to keep there. I’ve always believed that Colby’s death was either related to this child retrieving business or that the CIA did it for him giving the agency’s jewels away during testimony. However, the lawyer he was working with, also ‘happen’ to die a month later!!!!
Here you won’t find someone even remotely attempting to get those children back. But if you do you can be sure plenty of adversaries will try to come after you and put you out of business.
I have seen other articles like this article. There is one big advice for any non-muslim woman who is thinking about marrying a muslim man. The advice is do not it. Often times the muslim man will want to go back to the Islamic country he came from where he will have full custody of any children.
And most of the time, they take them back to his home country on the pretense of introducing them to the family, then never leave.
