Daily Mail – Tommy Robinson was pepper sprayed by police as he was arrested during Sunday’s March Against Anti-Semitism in central London. The English Defence League founder was detained by dozens of officers near the Royal Courts of Justice, where the rally attended by tens of thousands of people started.
Photos and video from the scene show the 40-year-old with his eyes partially closed after synthetic pepper spray was used on him. Robinson had claimed he was attending the rally, which was the biggest protest against anti-Semitism in London since 1936, ‘as a journalist’,
On the day he was seen arguing with officers for around 10 minutes outside Soho coffee shop opposite the Royal Courts of Justice before being led away by police.
Scotland Yard said it arrested Mr Robinson after he refused to leave the area when asked to by police officers.
LBC Former prime minister Boris Johnson was among the thousands of people participating in the demonstration – a day after pro-Palestinian crowds also gathered in the capital to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
It comes after engagement manager for Campaign Against Antisemitism Binyomin Gilbert told LBC News a survey had found half of British Jews have considered leaving the UK amid a “staggering” rise in discrimination.
It follows a multi-pronged attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 people and taking 240 hostage.
There have since been weekly pro-Palestine rallies in London, in which Campaign Against Antisemitism says there have been “genocidal chants, Hamas-style headbands, antisemitic placards and calls for jihad”.
“We have seen a 1300% increase in anti-Semitism,” Mr Gilbert said. “And this is staggering. And in fact I can release to you today the results of a survey of British Jews, which has shown us that 69%, nearly 70% of British Jews are saying that they are now less likely to show visible signs of their duties.
Addressing the pro-Palestine marches through the capital, Mr Gilbert said: “What we’ve seen is large scale marches week after week.
“In fact, there were protests happening before Israel had retaliated in the streets of London. “And we have seen in those marches, calls for intifada, we’ve seen support for organizations that want Jews dead.”

Let us not forget that on a previous occasion, Tommy Robinson was arrested by multiple police officers at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park (the spiritual home of British right to free speech) not for what he said, but for merely being there! The Muslime speaker, who was reciting VILE racist propaganda, was not arrested!
Robinson was arrested, denied his constitutionally-guaranteed right to bail, and banged up in a prison which is 100% Muslime-controlled. How he survived is a miracle!

He was spoken to and warned on more than one occasion that his continued presence in the area was likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to others. He was asked to leave the area but refused to do so.
I refuse to believe, he is actually that ignorant of his presence in volatile areas.
