Ilhan Omar (D-MN) speaking in the Somali language to a gathering of Somali-Americans in Minneapolis and, according to posted translations, repeatedly calling the visiting President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, “our president,” and saying “Somalia is our home,” is raising new questions about her loyalty to the United States. Omar added she has a “special relationship” with Mohamud. In a visit a week later to Somalia, Omar again called it “our country” while addressing Somali government leaders.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis calls for Ilhan Omar’s expulsion from Congress, deportation over ‘Somali first’ video.
Washington Times Ron DeSantis doesn’t just want Ilhan Omar out of the U.S. Congress, he just plain wants her out of the U.S.
The Florida governor called Tuesday for Ms. Omar’s expulsion in reaction to a video in which the Minnesota Democrat reportedly said in Somali that she was “Somali first” and would look out for the interests of her native country in the U.S. Congress.
“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” the former presidential-primary hopeful said on X while reposting a video of Ms. Omar speaking to a group in Minneapolis.
According to the post containing the video that Mr. DeSantis included in his own post, Ms. Omar “tells Somalians that she is Somalian first, Muslim second, and … [no, American wasn’t even mentioned]. Oh, and she says that her primary job in Congress is to protect Somali interests.”
Ms. Omar, who came to the U.S. as a refugee but has made repeated statements that conservatives call anti-American and ungrateful, called the translation misleading earlier this week but did not elaborate herself on how.
She does not mention being a naturalized U.S. citizen, as she must be to serve in Congress. As part of the naturalization procedure, foreign-born citizens take an oath pledging allegiance to the U.S. and foreswearing their native country.
Even Australian broadcasters think Omar’s behavior is grounds for expulsion from the US Congress:

The woman speaks the truth, and for once I do not fault her! She is NOT American, for her citizenship was acquired through outright fraud. As though gaining entry as a refugee was not enough of a fraud, she ‘married’ her brother in order to get him permanent residency in the USA. Now she has the support of the Somalians who had settled MN, a significant number of whom may have come into this nation using dubious means, and who would continue to vote for her! As a naturalized citizen you swear to have allegiance only to America. You specifically renounce allegiances to any past country when you become a naturalized citizen.
As a member of Congress, she should be tried for treasand then have our citizenship stripped. And after she served her time for treason shipped back to somalia.
