According to the New York Post, local police encountered attempted-assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks just moments before he tried to kill former president Donald Trump — but failed to stop the gunman despite the clear threat, according to a report.

The BBC actually interviewed one of the witnesses who saw the would be assassin climbing to the rooftop and actually alerted police and the SS. He claims that he, as well as the others, were ignored by LE.
This the ex President we are talking about here! One with round the clock Secret Service protection. One who is expected to become the President! Is this how such a person should be protected? This is a 20 year kid here! What if it was a better trained assassin? What kind of image are we presenting to the world as to how we protect our leaders from harm?
I think the DEI-obsessed female head of the Secret Service appointed by Biden should be fired immediately. Because of DEI, the standards for recruiting are much less stringent than they ever were before. They hire too many women now. 😡
Media here even obfuscate the fact that this was an assassination attempt. Some go as far as regretting the plot to have been unsuccessful.
Many bloggers downplay the incident and assign the fault to Trump himself.
Even worse, many here on the left are saying the Trump campaign “staged” the attempt to get sympathy. 😡
Surely America has laws against incitement to violence? Biden making that statement about putting Trump “in the bullseye” would qualify as such, so when can we expect charges to be laid against Geriatric Joe? Just asking!

Too soon to say for sure, but it look like that.
Assuming true. It sounds like the officer ducked the head down to avoid being shot. But for the protection of a potential President of the USA, Why wouldn’t you pop your head up again and shoot the so and so? Your not going to read him his rights after he pointed his gun at you! Alternatively shoot in the air and get some attention. Being in police uniform, near some guy on a roof with a rifle, the officer wouldn’t be a target. But things can happen so quickly. The assassin would have realized his time was up and his hurried shots missed. Hopefully we might know once the investigations finish. My condolences to the dead and best wishes to the injured in the audience.
He didn’t just duck his head down, he climbed down the ladder instead of shooting the assassin. He should be fired.
