More of the free world need to condemn the tyrannical new leader of Great Britain
Not sure how elections went in the UK but it reminds me of France where majority of people elected for a change but due to newly formed administrative coalitions went from bad to worse instead.
On EU level von der Leyen got reinstalled as head despite her being suspect of severely fraudulent actions as minister of defense in Germany and later as head of the EU commission.
Next stop Germany. Hope things will swing around but but I don’t see the CDU break their battle plan of coalition with the disastrous Greenies. On state level everywhere the CDU/Greenies form a coalition the latter, who are nothing but left extremists, are the ones running the show despite being the minority. The only real alternative AFD might already be officially banned by then.
unfortunately our voting system favours the large established parties. Labour got 10 million votes which gave them 411 seats, Reform got 4 million votes and only got 5 seats. We need proportional representation like they have in EU elections but obviously Labour and the Conservatives will never allow it.
the UK is divided into what are known as constituencies, there are around 630 of them and this is in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. You can only vote in the constituency you live in and obviously you get a single vote. The voting normally takes place at schools, village halls, community centres etc and you just put your cross by your chosen candidates name. Usually the ballot paper always has a candidate from Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrats no matter which constituency you are from, they have the money and can fight every seat all over the UK. Obviously this year Reform were on the ballot paper but I don’t think they put any candidates up in Scotland or Northern Ireland. You also get people standing as independent candidates and we have a lot of minority parties like Greens, Communists and national parties in Scotland and Ireland. The name of the game is for a party to win 316 seats/constituencies, if they do that they will form a majority government because all the other parties combined cannot beat them. If say they only got 300 they would do a deal with a minority party to reach the 316 figure and you then have a coalition government. Labour won 411 seats so they can put through any legislation they want in parliament knowing full well they will win everytime, the other parties only have 219 seats between them. We are now stuck with them for a maximum of 5 years.
How right you are. im in the middle of it here in germany and i see how the conservativ cdu turns leftwing and green. The cdu has made a firewall to the afd and the only ones left that she can govern with is either the spd or the greens or the new left with sara wagenknecht. with this as choice the cdu turns into a left bullshit club that blends its members. question who was it that turned germany into a seedlungs area or to destroy our energy system…it was merkel with the cdu and why should the cdu change now. germany has lefthand politic long before the day sept 2015 and the cdu was the leader here then she was the government for over 16 years so what is conservativ in or on the cdu…NOTHING

How does that work? I’ve never really understood the parliamentary system.
