A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction ruling that says @UCLA cannot allow anti-Israel/pro-Hamas protesters to block Jewish students from getting to their classes or gaining access to other parts of the campus.
VinNews U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi’s ruling came in a lawsuit filed in June by three Jewish students at UCLA. The students alleged that they experienced discrimination on campus during the protest because of their faith and that UCLA failed to ensure access to campus for all Jewish students.
The preliminary injunction marks the first time a U.S. judge has ruled against a university over the demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas war on college campuses earlier this year. Question: Why was it necessary for Jewish students to bring a lawsuit against a public university to be able to get to class & walk on campus???

The federal judge is correct. It is UCLA’s campus and they have control of it. If they had asked their campus police or if necessary, the municipal police, to clear out the campus of the element intimidating the Jewish students, it would have been done 1-2-3 !
The mere fact that a California State institution is fighting this in court shows that there is something VERY wrong with the school’s administration.
If UCLA does not act, the judge can order the federal marshals to keep the pro Hamas element in campus in check.

I didn’t think there were any judges like that still in California.

I would think the judge had no choice but to rule in favor of the Jewish students! You have kids being blocked from the very classes they are paying for. One could argue UCLA was fine in taking their $ for the classes, but then not allowing the students to have access to the classes, UCLA is then in breech of contract.

Apparently, UCLA didn’t have a problem with it, probably because they get a lot of big donations from the Arab gulf states.
