It isn't Islamophobia when they really ARE trying to kill you

1st time I ever heard a Muslim speaks real sense!
The very 1st time in multi-decades!!
Islam can not be reformed. Otherwise, it will disappear as with any cult since the peaceful religious verses in the Quran are subordinate to the 109+ verses promoting violence. The Sunna, as mentioned, is even more so. Jihad, death to apostates and treatment of non-Muslims as Dhimmis are what enables it to metastasize like a cancer. Raheel Raza and Dr. Zuhdi Jasser have tried and failed.
However, he’s right about Ilhan Omar. Great line.
So why is he still a Muslim?
Without people like this, Islam will never be reformed. Admittedly, they are few and far between.
I honestly wouldn’t mind a so-called “progressive Islam” movement if it were led by genuine secular-minded folk like Imam Tawhidi, Asra Nomani, or Zuhdi Jasser.
But most average Muslims being the theocratic imperialists that they are, they would rather push crypto-Islamists like Ilhan Omar, Linda Sarsour, and Dalia Mogahed (a literal known Muslim Brotherhood operative btw) as being so-called “progressive Muslims” and “reformers”.
So unfortunately, most of the genuine progressive-minded Muslims actually get far more support from “Islamophobes” like us than from any actual Muslims, lol.
I don’t know any so called “Islamophobes’ who support Omar and Tlaib whose alleged progressivism is fake, just a ruse to make their allies on the left think they aren’t actually devout Muslims who put Islam first and wouldn’t dare suggest it be reformed. There’s a pro Israel, genuine moderate Muslim reformer running against Ilhan Omar as a Republican for the second time and she doesn’t stand a chance. I even contributed to her campaign, but she probably won’t get any Muslim votes in Minneapolis.
Yes, I agree.
I was just noting that it’s ironic that on the rare occasion a genuinely sane and progressive Muslim appears in the public discourse, it’s usually non-Muslims that actually end up supporting them. While it’s the sort of pseudo-progressive crypto-Islamist types you mention that get support from most actual Muslims.
Exactly.
