Watch how one of the British King’s guard horses, who stand at attention for hours on end, and are trained to ignore the endless parade of annoying tourists wanting to take pictures along side him, occasionally nipping at the pushy ones, reaches out to a mentally challenged girl in a wheelchair.
As I mentioned in the comments, these horses aren’t always friendly towards everyone.
The bit isn’t under the tongue. A lot of horses appear to chewing on the bit and opening and closing their mouths. It’s very normal behavior. As for the guard horses, I’ve seen them actually bite people standing close to them and even saw one lift a small woman off her feet by her ponytail. They have to stand there for hours and it probably breaks up the boredom. YouTube has a lot of these videos.
Thanks, Bonni, I’ve only ever seen them nip. I want to asi you about the horse’s mouth. The way he was moving his tongue / mouth, reminded me of a video I saw where the horse was moving his mouth similiarly, then started rearing, I dont’ remember, but it had to take the horse away. Someone in the comments said the bit had been put under his tongue instead of over it, or the other way, I don’t know, The wrong way. I’ve seen that movement since in the King’s horses before, & in this horse. I don’t remember seeing it elsewhere. Can you explain?

Absolutely adorable and thought (tear) provoking…
Thanks, Bonni~!
I thought of you when I found this.
Typing this after just wiping a tear away lol.
It’s amazing how animals just know and respond.
