Gives new meaning to the concept of “Inviting the fox into the henhouse!”

The principal of a NYC school that faced turmoil over rampant anti-Semitism and homophobia by Muslim students is being removed, and replaced with a MUSLIM (a follower of the most anti-Semitic, homophobic religion on earth). 

NY Post (h/t Marvin W) Dara Kammerman’s departure as interim principal of Origins High School comes six months after The Post exposed complaints that she had failed to stem outbursts against Jewish and LBGTQ students and teachers.

Kammerman (likely Jewish herself) sent an email  to the school community on Monday saying she will be “stepping down” after working 11 years at the Sheepshead Bay school. She made no mention of the turmoil, calling Origins “beautifully diverse” and saying “I am proud of what the school has become over the years.”

The change also comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed against the city Department of Education by Jewish teacher Danielle Kaminsky and campus manager Michael Beaudry, who allege they were removed from the school in retaliation for blowing the whistle on anti-Jewish and anti-LGBTQ hate.

The fiery claims, previously outlined by The Post, included one teacher lamenting that she was “scared to come to work every day” after she was called a “a dirty Jew” by a student who said he wished “she was killed” in the Holocaust.

Kaminsky, 34, was terrorized by teens who called her “a dirty Jew,” scrawled swastikas in the classroom, gave the Nazi salute and told her “I wish you were killed” in the Holocaust, she said. Students tore down an Israeli flag in her classroom, and wrote “DIE” on the door.

After her grievances went public, she received a “safety transfer” to Richmond Hill HS in Queens — but the new position expired in three months. And she was then unfairly slapped with a poor rating, hindering her ability to land a new job, according to court documents.

In another alleged incident, a student donning a Hitler moustache was caught on security footage going from class to class doing the Sieg Heil salute, according to employees.

“This is a place where swastikas are painted on teachers’ offices, on walls, in classrooms, on boards, on students’ laptop,” she alleged. “This has become the norm at this school. The complaints fall on deaf ears. There’s been no discipline, which is why this behavior’s been encouraged.”

The misconduct continued because Kammerman did not adequately discipline the students – once insisting that teens taunting the teacher about liking Hitler “were trying to have an academic conversation,” records show.

In a separate email, Superintendent Michael Prayor said Kammerman “will continue to be a valuable member of my team.”  He did not elaborate on her new role. She made $170,508 last year.

Prayor replaced her with Ahmed Elmaliki, a former English teacher with less than two years’ experience as an assistant principal at Boerum Hill School for International Studies.  In his own email, Elmaliki described himself as “the child of hard-working immigrants from Yemen.”

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov, (R-Brooklyn), said she was relieved for the school staff and families who “endured the hostile environment” under Kammerman, but called on the DOE to do more to protect students and teachers.

However, “Nobody is fooled by this ridiculous transfer/promotion, which instead of issuing consequences, rewards the culpable party,” Vernikov  said.
