CEASEFIRE DEAL between Israel and Hamas – Now, close to NEVER

The prospect of a negotiated deal to free the remaining Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas sank to a new low over the weekend. Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar made new demands in his months-long standoff with the lives of the hostages on the line, demanding that Israel release 100 more terrorists serving life sentences than had been agreed upon.

Honest ReportingIt was only 80 years ago that the Allied Powers, Canada included, fought to defeat Nazi Germany. And yet today, as Israel – the world’s only Jewish state – faces a threat posed by another genocidal ideology, radical Islamic terrorism, carried out by Hamas, Hezbollah and other proxies of the Iranian regime, news outlets must stop demanding that Israel surrenders to those who seek its destruction.

The Jewish people know too well that a genocidal ideology seeking to murder Jews cannot be negotiated with or reasoned with, and it’s time that the world recognize the threat posed by Islamic terrorism, not just against Israel, but which threatens the West, too.

In the National Post on September 9, HRC Executive Director Mike Fegelman argued that eighty years after victory in WWII, our media must stop demanding that Israel surrender to another genocidal enemy. No amount of negotiations or appeasement could possibly quench the blood thirst of an ideology that was dead-set on murdering its opponents.

Although Hamas has made no effort to hide its genocidal intentions — and, in fact, actively shares it with anyone who will listen — far too many news outlets in Canada and abroad have framed the terrorist group as a “resistance” movement, whose dispute with Israel is purely territorial in nature, not existential. In this view, Jerusalem simply needs to vacate some of its historic lands and the conflict will abate.

This is pure fantasy. Hamas, in both deed and word, makes clear that it will stop at nothing until the State of Israel — home to nearly half the world’s Jews — is utterly destroyed. Hamas makes no distinction between civilians and combatants, nor between children and adults: they are all marked for death in the eyes of this terrorist group.

There is, quite literally, absolutely nothing Israel can do that would possibly pacify Hamas, but that has not stopped countless pundits, commentators and columnists from demanding that Israel effectively surrender to a demonic death cult that seeks the genocide of millions of people.

As Churchill said in his first speech as prime minister about what Britain’s policy was against the Nazis, “I can answer in one word: it is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival.”

Although our enemies differ, Hamas’s goals are no less existential than the Nazis. Israel and the world’s objective, therefore, must be no different than Churchill’s: victory, victory at all costs against the terrorists of Hezbollah, Hamas and their puppet masters — the Iranian regime.

‘Hamas is just like the Nazis,’ says father of three sons in the IDF Marc Tobin said he’s frustrated with the downplaying of Hamas’ attack on Israeli civilians, accusing some activists of using the tactics of Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

FOX News  Tobin said protesters and activists ignoring Hamas’ atrocities are taking a page out of Adolf Hitler’s chief propagandist’s playbook to create and spread disinformation. “Joseph Goebbels had a strategy of if you say it enough, then people believe it,” he said.

A New York City protester denied that any children were beheaded. An IDF commander told Fox News “There are a lot of men, women and children who have been beheaded.” “That’s false. That is actually false,” the protester told Fox News’ Lawrence Jones. “Israel is notorious for creating propaganda” so it can “massacre” Palestinians.

Tobin praised the IDF for taking journalists to the massacre sites to get the truth into the press. “You can lie about anything, but the facts speak for themselves,” he said. “There are people who will never believe that people can do that or they’ll justify why they were able to perpetuate such a heinous crime.” 

“I said thank you to a couple of soldiers for what they were doing,” Tobin said. One said “‘You don’t have to thank me. We’re fighting the Nazis and we’re going to win.'”

“This is not 1935 and 1940 where the Jewish people had no way to defend themselves,” Tobin added. “We have an army and we have people who are willing to drop everything else in their life to defend the homeland and to defend their families and to defend their people.”
