Former Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott’s remarks about Israel put Joe Biden to shame
Tony Abbott was a great Prime Minister. I wish he were back in office now.
TheNightly In response to US President Joe Biden who said last week that he did not back an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and also said they should look at alternatives to hitting oil fields, former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has backed an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities as he warned a “new axis of dictatorships” was threatening mankind.
Abbott said no one seriously thought Iran’s nuclear facilities were not the precursors to nuclear weapons. “Israel has every right to deny the means of a new Holocaust to a country bent on bringing it about and the world would be much better off if the Iranian nuclear program were terminated.”
Abbott added: “Since October 7, while Western leaders have conceded Israel’s right to self-defence, they’ve almost always urged that it not be exercised. There’ve been constant demands for ‘ceasefires’ and for ‘de-escalation’ which could only benefit terrorist groups.” “Israel is in the front line of freedom and deserves the backing of all free countries and their citizens. Israel’s refusal to compromise with the terrorist groups meant it was fighting on behalf of the entire West “because ‘death to the infidels’ is potentially coming for all of us.”
JNS “Israel faces an existential threat from Iran and also from these apocalyptic death cults, like Hamas. Therefore, it’s right for Israel to seek the utter destruction of Hamas,” said Abbott. The former prime minister said the Hamas terrorists did not just kill Jews on October 7, but “exalted in their killing,” adding even the Nazis “tried to hide what they did”.
Abbott also took the current Australian government to task for its decision to resume use of the term “occupied Palestinian territories” in reference to eastern Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, reversing unofficial policy in place for almost 10 years. While he was Prime Minister, he called on his country to cut millions of dollars of annual aid to the Palestinian Authority, accusing Ramallah of funneling the money to “terrorists and their families.”
Below is a short clip of Tony’s remarks on Israel.
