Republican Senator Lindsey Graham warns British Prime Minister that US will ‘crush’ UK economy if Britain helps arrest Benjamin Netanyahu

Daily Mail (h/t Nita) The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the Israeli Prime Minister and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Thursday, citing alleged war crimes in Gaza. Unlike the United States and Israel. Britain is a member of the International Criminal Court and is obliged to act on arrest warrants it issues.
‘If you are going to help the ICC as a nation and force the arrest warrant against Bibi and Gallant…I will put sanctions on you as a nation,’ Senator Graham, himself a lawyer by training, told FOX News. ‘What they’re doing in Israel is trying to prevent a second Holocaust. So, to any ally, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, if you try to help the ICC, we’re gonna sanction you,’ the South Carolina senator added.
Asked what such sanctions could look like, he said: ‘We should crush your economy because we’re next…Why can’t they go after Trump or any other American president?’
Even US President Joe Biden, not a member of the court, slammed what he called the ‘outrageous’ arrest warrant, reiterating support for Israel.
A spokesperson for Downing Street said this week that the British government respected the court and refused to rule out that Netanyahu could be arrested if he landed on British soil. He said: ‘We respect the independence of the ICC.’

  6. Even though I live in Britain, I am delighted by this. The Labour Party government are hypocrites for supporting the arrest warrants, because they killed far more people in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they invaded Iraq over weapons of mass destruction that didn’t even exist, and they killed David Kelly and James Herbert for exposing the Labour Party’s war crimes and locked up Julian Assange for the same reason.

  7. No need to make such open threats to our traditional ally UK. Graham is someone who blows hot and cold, and I doubt if he is a loyal ally of Trump. Not too long ago he was bitterly criticizing Trump, and now he makes threats muddying the water for the incoming Trump administration, without knowing how President Trump would want the matter handled. We know that the UK is infected by a Liberal Government, but Trump knows how to bring them to heel. I would hope that at least the Republicans would give Trump the space and time he needs to formulate his policies and his strategies! Personally though, I would say Shame on the UK for their stupid stance to arrest the Prime Minister of Israel! They should stand firmly by the side of Israel in this their most critical time in history.
