My knowledge of the area is kinda vague, but I strongly believe that the world is a safer place when there are strong tyrants ruling these nations. Whether it is the Shah of Iran, Saddam of Iraq, Gaddafi of Libya – they made the region predictable and safer. Now that Asaad is gone, one wonders what wickedness will come of the next jihadi to take power! Wish Trump would clean up the mess, and actually place strong tyrants to rules these nations. It is stupid on our part to regime change Iraq (for instance), oversee a new democratic Constitution whose preamble states that all their laws derive from the holy Quran! I would rather they be ruled by strongmen beholden to the United States.

Islam is characterized by this type of group hysteria & psychopathy. Just like video gamers who get enthralled by Tour of Duty or Grand Theft Auto or some such animated technicolor fantasy, these jihadis are thoroughly sucked in to a 1400 year old vision of conquest and glory that they cannot reconcile with the backwardness of their contemporaneous societies. For them it’s easier to remain in the fantasy of their historical vision rather than accept the harsh reality of your own primitivity. I am afraid Ramez Fekry is right. These Muslim devils do not need mass destruction weapons to kill and terrorize innocent people. The Taliban does not use chemicals, they use bastions, stones, knives, beatings. Israel destroyed weapons that could be used against them, and that is good, but for the people inside Syria this does not guarantee anything.
