COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY: For the second time, a pro-Hamas supporter attacks Jewish student, calling him a “Nazi”

An anti-Israel (Muslim?) protester slugged a Jewish Columbia University student in the face, ranting about Hitler and the Nazis in an unhinged flag-snatching tantrum on Monday, police and the victim said.  

NY Post Jonathan Lederer, 22, showed up to an anti-Israel protest outside the Ivy League school’s Morningside Heights campus with his brother when an Islamic keffiyeh-clad (Muslim?) demonstrator snatched an Israeli flag out of the sibling’s hands, then decked him for stepping in, he told The Post.

The clash unfolded when Lederer — whose ancestors were killed in the Holocaust — was surrounded by protesters who accused him of being a baby killer for his support of the Jewish state, he recounted. The pro-Hamas demonstrators then seethed, “Jews have no history in the land. You stole our land,” according to Lederer, who studies computer science at the school.

One brute allegedly spewed more anti-Semitic venom — comparing Lederer to a Nazi and ranting, “You guys have done everything Hitler has done” before grabbing the flag away from his brother and taking off.  When he asked for his flag back the attacker turned around and punches me in the face, on the right side of my face,” the student said. 

The violent protester then took off, fleeing northbound on Claremont Avenue, police said. It’s the second time Lederer was attacked at a protest outside the university, he said.

“On Saturday night, the situation on campus hit a new low,” Lederer wrote in an article he penned for The Free Press that he told cops he was displaying the Israeli flags shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday when a protester grabbed one of them and took off — while another agitator burned a second flag.

Lederer said he and his friends were singing songs calling for peace when they were confronted by “masked keffiyeh-wearers” who came “face-to-face” with the Jewish students. “They chanted, ‘F–k Israel, Israel’s a bitch,’” he wrote. “We were told, ‘You guys are all inbred.’” He said the protesters then started chasing them toward the campus gates shortly after midnight.

Meanwhile, cops have reported other antisemitic incidents in recent days as the anti-Israel demonstrations have intensified, including a new tent city that sprouted up at Columbia. A pair of Jewish Columbia students were confronted on the Manhattan campus and told, “kill yourself,” and said one protester kicked his pal in the stomach before running off.
