MICHIGAN: Afghan refugee caseworker in critical condition after being stabbed by an Afghan Muslim refugee whom he helped resettle

An Afghanistan-born caseworker for a company that assists refugees was in surgery after Afghan Muslim refugee stabbed him multiple times, say Oakland County officials.

In Oakland County, Michigan an Afghan asylum seeker tracked down his case worker’s home address & stabbed him multiple times, leaving him in a critical condition.

ABC12 NewsAuthorities say the suspect took off in his car but was later taken into custody. Deputies say he is a refugee from Afghanistan. The victim, also an Afghan, is a caseworker with a company that helps refugees, officials said. He was taken into surgery with stab wounds that are “very serious,” the sheriff’s office said.

It’s over 20 cuts and stabs, it wasn’t an accidental brush of the knife, it was multiple,” said Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
