At least two victims allegedly are fighting for their lives. Motive for the attack not yet confirmed…but rest assured, authorities will soon be trying to blame the attack on “mental issues.”

Counter-terrorism police are investigating a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker suspected of deliberately plowing a car into a crowd in Munich, injuring at least 30 people.
Police fired gunshots at the car after it weaved between the police vehicles tailing the demonstration and drove into the crowd. Shellshocked witnesses told of hearing an “engine roar” and “wheels spinning”, with images showing dozens of police surrounding a smashed-up Mini Cooper as debris was strewn across the floor in the wake of the crash.
According to prosecutors, the suspect has at least “indications of an extremist background”, German news site Zeit Online reports. News website Der Spiegel says the asylum-seeker is believed to have posted Islamic extremist posts on social media before the attack.
Authorities are still probing a motive but officials said early indications suggest the protest was likely targeted at random.
His asylum application had been rejected but it had been impossible to deport him, according to Bavaria’s state interior minister, Joachim Herrmann. The suspect was known to authorities in connection with shoplifting and drug offences, he said.
Witnesses told how the attacker’s car overtook a vehicle with officers in that was following the rally, then accelerated and ploughed into the back of the group.
“Anyone who commits crimes in Germany will not just be punished severely and have to go to prison, but must expect that he cannot continue his stay in Germany — and that also goes for countries that it is very difficult to send people back to,” Chancellor Olaf Scholz said. He described the ordeal as “a terrible attack.” (Oops, you forgot to say “Islamic terror attack”)

(h/t Nita) They qualified the observation by claiming there’s no evidence the suspect – named locally as 24-year-old Farhad N – was involved with any radical Islamic terror network, rather he appeared to be a lone Islamic terror operative.
AP reports prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann said the suspect cried “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is great,” to police and then prayed after his arrest — which prompted a department that investigates extremism and terror to take on the case immediately. In questioning, the perpetrator admitted deliberately driving into the demonstration and “gave an explanation that I would summarize as religious motivation,” Tilmann said.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz responded harshly and with stern words after the incident, the BBC reports. “This perpetrator cannot hope for any leniency. He must be punished and he must leave the country,” Scholz told reporters.

I believe in the last election Afd had initially gained enough seats to constitute a minority that could exert some power but after the election results had been returned it was mysteriously discovered that the election results were in error and the necessary seats were taken away from Afd at the last moment.
