In a country where more than 90% of the population is Christian, and only 5% Muslim, in a horrifying act of brutality, at least 70 Christians were found beheaded by Muslim terrorists using machetes in a church in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Persecution The attack, reportedly carried out by militants from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamic terrorist group associated with the Islamic State (ISIS) despite its secular sounding name, has left the local Christian community in shock and fear.
Responding to ADF attacks in January that left 15 dead, pastors in North Kivu province told International Christian Concern (ICC) that the violence often targets Christians and has decimated churches.

“We are no longer talking about simple violence,” one pastor said. “We are losing fellow innocent Christians time and again. Our churches are now remaining empty…. the people of the Lord are suffering, and it’s just not bearable to watch.”
Including these most recent attacks, at least 237 Christians have been killed by (ISCAP, also known as the Allied Democratic Forces) since Christmas 2024. More than 5,000 Christians have been killed by ISCAP since October 2017.
Another militant group, known as M23, is backed by neighboring Rwanda and has taken over multiple cities in the DRC since January, including Goma, a major regional hub and the capital of North Kivu province.
In the DRC, Muslim terrorist forces are sweeping through large tracts of land and seizing cities in a lightning offensive that has rapidly shifted the frontlines of a decades-long conflict that has killed about 6 million Christians and displaced many more.
Despite this horrific attack, there has been an astounding lack of mainstream media coverage. The realities of Christian persecution are devastating and sorely underreported.
Outside of Israel the prospect that Christianity will be annihilated by moslems throughout the Mid-East and N. Africa over the course of the 21st century I’d think is very possible.
It’s not too late to stop it. But there doesn’t seem to be the will.

I see these kinds of stories all the time, but usually they are in Muslim majority countries. I can’t understand why with such a large Christian population, the Congo can’t/won’t kill all these terrorists.
