The violent takeover involved assaults on NYPD officers while students waved images of dead Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist leaders, Yahya Sinwar and Hassan Nasrallah.
Independent Sentinel (h/t Nita) The New York Police Department made ten arrests, including Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, on Wednesday in connection with the violent anti-Israel pro-Hamas protest at Barnard College. They were charged with obstructing governmental administration, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

The protesters stayed inside the Milstein Center for almost four hours before police officers arrived at the scene and started detaining students with zip ties. Less than an hour earlier, protesters were told to leave the building due to a bomb threat. According to video footage, many decided to stay because they thought it was a joke.

They wouldn’t let staff leave! They were allegedly ‘protesting’ the expulsion of three students.
The first two who were expelled disrupted a class about the history of the Jewish state by handing out Hamas propaganda at the start of the spring semester. The episode was caught on camera. The third was expelled for their involvement in Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall occupation last spring.
Columbia, which is affiliated with Barnard, called the latest protest unacceptable.

In April 2024, Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, claimed to be homeless and poverty stricken after being arrested and suspended from $90,000-per-year Barnard College over her participation in illegal anti-Israel encampments.
NY Post Speaking about her arrest, Hirsi said she was held in custody for roughly eight hours. Hirsi, who is a member of the anti-Israel student group Apartheid Divest, had already received notice of her suspension early Thursday — hours before the NYPD was called in to arrest protestors and help dismantle the anti-Israel protest encampment.
Barnard administrators had initially started warning their students late Wednesday that they risked being suspended if they didn’t clear out. When Hirsi sought help from Barnard administration after being cut loose from jail on Thursday, she whined that she’d heard crickets.
“I sent them an email like, ‘Hey, I rely on campus for my meals, I rely on my dining plan,’ and they were like, Oh, you can come pick up a prepackaged bag of food, a full 48 hours after I was suspended,” she told the magazine.
Ilhan Omar said she is ” enormously proud” of her daughter.
Wonder if this daughter is a result of the alleged marriage to her brother.
