Of course, it’s the Muslim-pandering Jewish Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, who has just given $5 million in taxpayer money to a radical mosque that preaches hatred for Jews. No doubt, this is the kind of Jew Democrats might choose as a candidate for President in 2028.
PhillyTrib Gov. Josh Shapiro joined an iftar dinner at the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society in North Philly to announce a historic grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, the largest ever awarded to a Muslim organization.
Shapiro told the assembled group of a few dozen community members Tuesday night that institutions such as Al-Aqsa “are more important than ever before” in the current climate “as we’re facing tumult overseas, and we’re facing a lot of rising hate here at home.”
“So I’m really proud that we’ve been able to work together with your leaders here to invest $5 million in making this place an even greater center of activity in the community,” he told the group as they enjoyed a dinner of shawarma, hummus, rice and pita.
According to Asif Hussain, chairman of the board of Al-Aqsa Islamic Society, one goal for the funds will be to expand the center’s school by adding classrooms and teachers to better meet local demand, increasing attendance from the current 300 to up to 3,000.
Al-Aqsa Academy, a private Islamic day and weekend school, was established in 1996. The coursework blends Islamic studies, the Arabic language and Quran classes with a standard K-12 curriculum, including math, science and social studies. The school’s website says its mission is to “provide students with a safe, nurturing, and uplifting Islamic environment that will help them achieve academic excellence.”
Much of the school’s operations costs are borne by private donations. In addition, the students, who are primarily from African and Middle Eastern backgrounds, receive scholarships and financial aid facilitated by programs like the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. Hussain says that none of the families are required to pay tuition.
Founded in 1989 by a group of Palestinian immigrants, Al-Aqsa Islamic Society began as a modest house of worship in a rented storefront. Over the past three decades, it has grown into a multifaceted institution serving hundreds of families, drawing worshippers and community members from across the city’s Arab, South Asian, African and African American communities.
The society’s campus also includes a Middle Eastern grocery store, where locals can pick up staples such as dates and za’atar, as well as basketball courts where several of the students could be seen playing rounds after having broken their Ramadan fasting. Al-Aqsa has recently been developing a 45-unit affordable housing project across the street.
Shapiro said that he worries that recent political events have increased anxiety among the Muslim population around the state and in Philadelphia, which is estimated to be between 200,000 and 300,000 people.
“This is a moment where I think communities are fearful of the federal government and that’s deeply concerning to me and I want the Muslim community to know that they’re welcome here in Pennsylvania,” he said at the iftar. “I’ve got their back and I’m going to protect them and I’m going to do everything in my power to ensure that their rights are protected here in the commonwealth.”
After receiving condemnation from Hamas-linked Muslim groups like CAIR, Shapiro suddenly changed his opinion about the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
Well, the Dems would have absolutely no problem with the majority of Jews in the USA. Amongst our close Jewish friends, ALL are Democrats and generally take an anti Israel stand making common cause with the Cult. Never understood this! Never. How can otherwise sane people, highly educated, in high positions in the Professions, industry and Government behave in this irrational insane manner against their own tiny refuge of a nation? Of what use is sending their kids to Hebrew classes, holding Bat and Barmitzvahs for your kids when you are oblivious to the fate of the nation that represents all your values? I was shocked to see this, especially the part about him now supporting a 2-state solution, when for so many years, he was adamantly against it. Guess he needs those Muslim votes, knowing that the leftist Jews will still vote for him.
I think he just might have thrown away any chance winning the presidency. I would like to ask him if he was prepared for whatever disease he might have contacted as he should know that Muslims often do not wash their hands after using the lavatories and him being a Jew, they certainly would not worry about his health.
It isn’t simply “not using the lavatory”, mohammedans, being the lowest of ALL creatures, wipe following defecation with a BARE left hand.
