On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jewish students at Yale University had bottles thrown at them and were blocked from going to class by pro-Hamas agitators

In a disturbing development at Yale University, Jewish students have reported being obstructed from accessing parts of their own campus by pro-Hamas agitators. These incidents coincided with protests against Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s scheduled appearance at a private event near the university.

FOX News Gvir had been invited to deliver a speech on Yom Hashoa, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, by Shabtai, a Jewish intellectual society not officially affiliated with Yale. Demonstrators were seen on video hurling water bottles at Ben Gvir and attendees of the lecture as they were exiting the Shabtai building on Wednesday.

Sahar Tartak, a Yale junior, said an anti-Israel demonstrator had referred to her, Crispe and another Jewish student as “scum” as they strolled the university grounds and subjected them to other racist abuse. Tartak had been assaulted at a prior anti-Israel Yale demonstration in April 2024, where a demonstrator allegedly jabbed her in the eye with a Palestinian flag. She says being a Jew at Yale the last two years has been “terrifying.”

Yale University revoked the status of a registered pro-Palestinian student group this week, saying it “flagrantly violated the rules” and set up an unauthorized encampment to protest Israel and blocked Jewish students from crossing.

Students for Justice in Palestine’s (SJP) chapter at Yale, Yalies4Palestine, rallied others to join the blockage over social media, the university said in a statement. SJP, which described the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel as a “historic win for the Palestinian resistance,“ has come under scrutiny in the last year for its alleged ties to Hamas.

Damm it people in times like these are its time to carry throwing stuff with you and all Jewish students should fill their pockets. enough of the sitting still and waiting for a police that wont come and when she does come she aressts the wrong one. The time to stand for one self and group is today and not some day in the future…maybe.

I’d like to see a working definition of the term “Holocaust”. Does it mean Jews were treated like crap by the Nazis? Well then, yeah I agree. Dispossession of businesses? Undisputed. Einsatzgruppen? Well documented. I’ve seen people lined up in front on burial trenches and shot at point blank range. How many were Roma? Homosexuals? Jehovah’s witnesses? Partisans fighting out of uniform? Soviets POWs?

The dead can’t talk now so uncertainty remains.

I have been to Auschwitz the main camp, where it’s commandant Rudolph Höss was hanged. Stood in the gas chamber and put my hands on the electrified barbed wire fence.

The basement of Block Eleven is harrowing. That was the punishment place, short of the firing wall right between Block Ten. It’s an eerie place that will leave you unsettled knowing how many people did indeed die there. A very somber and sobering place. It left its mark on me. It was a shock, even for me.

But what IS “the Holocaust” and when did it begin? Kristallnacht? The Nuremberg laws? The Ha’avarah agreement? The publication of Mein Kampf? Gas chambers?

The term Holocaust gets applied to so many aspects and social injustices from world war two, it is increasingly hard to draw a point on it.
