Michigan Senate Democrat Muslim candidate, Abdul El-Sayed, endorsed by socialist Bernie Sanders will appear at a major radical Islamic convention this weekend with anti-Israel speakers who have called for the destruction of Israel, praised Hamas terrorist leaders, and expressed “euphoria” over the Oct. 7th Hamas massacre in Israel.
Free Beacon (h/t Marvin W) Born to Egyptian immigrants, candidate Abdul El-Sayed was the vice president of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Students Association in college. A former CNN commentator running to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D.), El-Sayed will speak at the annual Islamic Circle of North America and Muslim American Society (ICNA-MAS) annual convention in Baltimore.
At a candidates’ forum in May of 2018, El-Sayed was confronted directly by Patrick Colbeck, his Republican opponent in the Michigan gubernatorial race, who voiced his concern over El-Sayed’s associations with the notoriously radical MSA, an organization with close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. In the course of his response to Colbeck, an angry El-Sayed said: “I knew, when I decided to run as the first Muslim American ever to run for governor, that I would face the ugliness of white supremacy, the ugliness of racism.” He also told Colbeck that because of the latter’s “Islamophobia,” “Muslims definitely hate you.

The upcoming ICNA-MAS Convention will focus squarely on the Israel-Hamas war, and feature a parade of speakers who claim Israel is waging “genocide” in the region.
El-Sayed will share the convention stage with Sami Hamdi, a British Muslim activist who said he felt “euphoria” after Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel. Tom Facchine, another conference speaker, said after the Hamas attack that, “we are with the Palestinian resistance 100 percent, no ifs, no ands, no buts, no equivocations, no apologies, no condemnations.” He has also encouraged Columbia University students to “take out” pro-Israel, Jewish professor Shai Davidai, the New York Post reported.
An upstate imam urged student activists to “take out” an outspoken, pro-Israel Columbia University professor who’s returning to the embattled Ivy this fall after a year of antisemitic hate.
Vassar-educated, Utica-based imam Tom Facchine made the plea about business school professor Shai Davidai during an Aug. 20 webinar called “Islamic Political Activism” with various Columbia student groups which promoted and broadcast it.
Muslim American Society director Ayman Hammous, another convention speaker, has praised Muslim Brotherhood leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who called for another Holocaust to “punish” Jews and has defended Palestinian suicide bombers. Hammous recently promoted a protest sign that referred to “the Satanic state of Israel.”
El-Sayed has been especially critical of Israel’s war in Gaza. On Oct. 21, 2023, two weeks after the Hamas slaughter of roughly 1200 people in southern Israel, the progressive politician accused Israel of “genocide.” He also compared Israel’s defensive military operations to the Hamas terrorist group’s conduct on Oct. 7, writing “You can both condemn Hamas terrorism AND Israel’s murder since.”
While El-Sayed’s affiliation with anti-Israel radicals could hurt him in a general election, it may well provide a boost in Michigan’s Democratic primary. Michigan has one of the country’s largest Muslim and Arab populations, which lean heavily Democratic. Those groups have increased their political clout in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war, with many taking part in the “uncommitted” movement last year to abstain from voting for Biden in the Democratic primary because of the U.S. government’s support for Israel. El-Sayed backed the movement as well, citing Biden’s “disaster in Gaza.”
Of particular concern to El-Sayed, a Democrat, was a January 2017 executive order by which Trump had sought to impose a temporary moratorium on the issuance of visas for people seeking to travel to the United States from seven majority-Muslim nations that were hotbeds of Islamic terrorism.
On August 7, 2018, El-Sayed lost the Democratic primary race to former Michigan state senator Gretchen Whitmer. The latter captured 52.1% of the vote, vs. 30.2% for El-Sayed. El-Sayed’s father-in-law is Dr. Jukaku Tayeb, a nephrologist and a former president (and current board member) of the Michigan chapter of the terror-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Muslims who hold radical jihad ideas should be doxed and watched 24/7. Islam is a political movement, not a religious one. The Quran is only 1/3 of the picture: Hadith and Sura…are the remaining 2/3’s. Do your homework folks, a religion that needs ‘death to the infidel’ is hardly a religion, but a bold call for war against anyone not fitting into their political box of hate and death. Believe it or not, a lot of Indian tourists visit Egypt..it’s a status symbol here to spend time in that country.
In Mumbai, I visited the Egypt Air office. It was packed to the brim with customer enquiries and reservations. So many people, well-heeled ones mostly, and they had to issue tokens to service all these inquiries. Mumbai is home to some of the wealthiest in India, the girls particularly looking pretty excited about their upcoming visit to Egypt. It was Madness, and I got suckered in the atmosphere.
The Egyptian staff (mostly Hijabs) created this illusory vibe of Egypt being one mystical place on Earth you should not miss out on. I think the ad slogan was something like “Everyone bows before time. Time bows before the Pyramids.” Truly next level 😁😆
Even I was hooked by that marketing campaign.
