God Bless our military and all those who have sacrificed so much for our country to keep us safe.
Remember when Hollywood ‘heroes’ were also real American heroes? Below is a partial list of those Hollywood stars who suspended their careers to enlist in the United States Armed Forces after America was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941:

Below is the list of Hollywood ‘heroes’ who suspended their careers to enlist in the United States Armed services after America was attacked by Muslim terrorists on September 11, 2001.
Actually, two celebrities volunteered to serve their country following 9/11:
Prior to becoming a famous Hollywood actor, Adam Driver (below) enlisted in the U.S. Marines shortly after 9/11 and served for two years and eight months before being medically discharged. He was assigned to Weapons Company, 1st Battalian, 1st Marines, but never deployed overseas.

Pat Tillman, NFL football star who gave up his pro football career to enlist in the U.S. Army after the terrorist attacks of September 11, was killed by friendly fire while serving in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004.

One day to Honor the men that fought to keep America safe and one month to celebrate the men who are homosexual.
Whats wrong with that picture ???..
Excellent point! Thank you.
Don Adams, of Get Smart fame, was a USMC infantryman in Guadalcanal. I’m not sure if he was wounded or caught some particularly malignant form of malaria but he was evacuated from Guadalcanal, his entire platoon was wiped out to the last man. He never returned to combat but became a Drill Instructor.
I saw an interview w/Eddie Albert about his service w/the USN, he conned the landing craft that took Marines to the beaches of Saipan. I’m not sure if it was Saipan or Tarawa but after dropping off his Marine contingent he asked if they needed anything and they said more ammo, by the time he returned, he said they were all dead.
My grand uncle was on the USS Indianapolis during WW2, fortunately for him, he contracted appendicitis shortly before the Indy’s mission to deliver the atomic bomb to Bikini atoll. On the return leg of the voyage the Indy was torpedoed and because of the sensitive nature of the mission it was days before they found out where the Indy had gone down and the sharks fed well.
My father said that Guadalcanal was a cakewalk, a Sunday regatta at the yacht club.
On the other hand, the Battle of Saipan was true hell. The first wave of assault, those Marines had a 7% survival rate (Second Marine Division), then in Death Valley, which followed all US Army personnel being commanded off of the island (USMC General Holland M. Smith to US Army General Ralph Smith, “Get those pussy army boys off of the island, they’re killing my Marines”) . My father was in the first wave of assault. Guadalcanal was a Sunday regatta at the yacht club.
Alley-hoo-ackburrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
An entire USN task force was destroyed by the IJN at Guadalcanal — incl. the commanding Rear Admiral. The Marines on Guadalcanal undoubtedly heard this naval battle but probably didn’t know the outcome until the USN pulled out all the transports, which were now undefended. For a while IJN cruisers and a least one battleship were able to shell Henderson field at night without fear of retaliation.

James Doohan of Star Trek lost the middle finger on his right hand serving in WWII . Canadian deserves mentioning
I believe Canadians were fighting in WW2 before the USA because they were a commonwealth country. Canada’s entire military was nothing but a poor joke in comparison to Imperial Japan or Nazi Germany though — either of those countries could’ve rolled up Canada’s military in a week.
This day does not belong to living American’s who are prideful and full of their own accomplishments and entitlements this day belongs to those who made it all possible … least we never forget those who stepped forward in to hell and went into eternity on our behalf … we can never make it right we should never stop trying .
So true.
Yes and we should be more gratefull for what these brave people did for all of us and not only America. Germany owes America all of its freedom and it was bought at a gigantic cost just as the many places were Americans had to fight. I go on these days and clean up the memorials and i salute them all. germany is a place were the millitary is dubbed and put down but i respect them and i give it as i should. Freedom is the highest good that any nation can have…thanks America and all of the fighting people that made this possible…THANKS.
it’s the thought that counts not the country we are born in … we are all brothers in liberty and stand in harms way united for all time … yours is the heart of a patriot .
Thank you and yes i learned my way of life in the U.S. and not the german crap that is tought, i also sewrved and learned what it is to use a gun for more than hunting deer. here in germany im a nazi because i hold my freedom way up high and i wont let anyone shut me up and as i told Bonni im an old obstinate bastard and proud of it too. i hang around here because here i meet sane normal people and to tell you the truth its the people that i have chosen for me, only for me and the reasons have been mentioned. That is why i support the only one God given nation on this planet and i certainly wont ever change my choice, no matter the price. Rock on.
