The only world leader on the face of the planet to publicly condemn the genocide of Christians in Nigeria as far as I know is Netanyahu. I can’t remember a single Christian leader anywhere ever muttering anything about this ongoing genocide.

It’s interesting that there was one woman who condemned the kidnapping and enslavement of (a hundred?) Christian Nigerian girls: Michelle Obama and I’ll bet she had to argue w/her husband about publicly making that statement on the broadcast news because he didn’t say anything at all about it.

Unfortunately, churches and Christian ministries are also silent about this genocide, which is particularly disturbing to me. The Church should be on the front lines talking about this genocide. As Judd Saul notes in the video linked below, there are small ministries involved. I first heard about what is going on there last year when I came across this discussion between Judd Saul (of Equipping the Persecuted) and Jon Harris of Conversations that Matter. While there is severe persecution of Christians around the world, what is happening in Nigeria is on another level. It is genocide. It is the wholesale slaughter of the Christians there.
As Saul notes, “Ninety percent of all Christian persecution deaths worldwide occur in Nigeria.” Let that sink in. As a Christian, these are my brothers and sisters.
