Yesterday’s Democrat primary election for NYC mayor resulted in Islamic extremist, Zohran Mamdani, as the presumptive nominee of the party. During his campaign, Mamdani not only refused to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state; he is a staunch defender of the death chant “globalize the intifada,” supports public protests against the state of Israel; vows to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he steps foot in NYC, despite the fact that he would have no legal authority to do so as mayor; and repeatedly accuses Israel of genocide.

Not every Mamdani voter is antisemitic. But they are willing to overlook it. They saw his associations. They heard the slogans. In 1981, I was given some big-azz promotion by Ma Merrill. That required a move to NYNY. That was before Mayor Guliani and there was filth and graffiti everywhere. At that time there was a trash collector’s strike and the streets smelled worse than a hog confinement facility. I abjectly hated that city. Every night, I would hail a cab from One Liberty Plaza to my studio dump and I do mean dump. I would crack open a fifth of Laphroaig and put a single 45rpm record on a small “record player”. Over and over again, I would play Jim Croce’s “New York’s Not My Home”, until I finally fell asleep/passed out. I tendered my resignation within less than 3 months.
I cannot imagine what it’s going to become when this mohammedan turns NYNY into Sodomy Khunt’s London.

During my short “stay” in that area, I met many that I was supposed to work with that lived on “Northshore” (?).
A forkin’ hour and a half to One Penn Central. They were used to it, being natives of that area. As it was explained to me, “Hey, it’s great. Grab a coffee and a bagel, copy of the Journal and the Times. And, on the way home, there’s a bar car. It isn’t that bad.”
If I had stayed, I would have moved my family into that environment. Get home around 11:00 p.m. and leave the next morning prior to 5.

It might be great if one didn’t have to commute to the city. On the train, at that time, you rode past fields of farmland. Now, if you can manage your business(s) from Northshore, that would be a great lifestyle.

I have no reason to be in the city anymore. I grew up on the South shore of Long Island but much prefer the North shore. In any case, it would mean a lot shorter commute to Louie, my horse. 🐎

Actually I did ride a Clydesdale once. My former trainer was a horse dealer so he got in all different breeds of horses. There was no girth for the saddle big enough to go around him so we had to attach 2 girths together. His gates (trot/canter) were so smooth, I could have had a cup of tea on him. I even jumped him over a very small fence, but it felt like we were jumping a big wall.
When riding a Clydesdale, one needs a full suit of plate armor and lance.

I always thought of Clydesdales as plough horses.
That commute sounds brutal but I can top that, I knew a guy who commuted every day from Palmdale, CA to metropolitan Los Angeles. He spent around 4 hours a day commuting to/from work in a car in rush hour traffic and there’s no relaxing in rush hour traffic. On Fridays his commute back to Palmdale could take upwards of 3 hours.

Laphroaig is incredible. Unleash the cork and the entire room smells of glorious smoke. If you like a heavy peat smoked Scots whiskey, it should fit the bill. It used to be relatively inexpensive when compared to other single malts. Sadly, that’s no longer the case.

If he’s elected as mayor of NYC, it will (eventually) portend a disaster for civil (i.e., western) existence -there’s nothing about Islam that is civil- only 9/11 (to date) surpasses. What he intends for NYC would be far worse than what London’s mayor, Sadiq Kahn, has done to that once great city.
