President Trump is pulling the US out of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), citing its anti-America and anti-Israel positions as well as its woke DEI agenda. “UNESCO’s decision to admit the ‘State of Palestine’ as a member-state is highly problematic, contrary to U.S. policy and contributed to the proliferation of anti-Israel rhetoric within the organization.” State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce announced during her briefing.

The UN and friends are infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Defunding the UN and kicking them out of the USA would be even better. I’m tired of the US taxpayer getting conned out of their tax dollars to support the Communist-Muslim controlled UN.
If the UN wants to vilify Israel, let them do it on someone else’s dime.
Getting out of the UN altogether would be in the US interest but detrimental to Israel. The veto power the US holds has shielded Israel from many UN resolutions. Israel would be totally screwed otherwise. Ain’t gonna happen.
That’s why Israel should also leave the UN at the same time. The UN is of zero benefit to Israel, in fact, it’s a detriment. If the US leaves the UN, the UN would cease to exist as we pay some 70 – 80 percent of its running costs.
While the UN, amazingly enough, passed the resolution creating the state of Israel in 1948 (and Stalin’s USSR voted for it, while India, maybe not so surprisingly, opposed it and voted against it), it’s been a downhill slope since then.
1948 was a different time. A newly independent India was cash-strapped dependent on the largesse of Western nations and also Soviet Russia. It probably voted against Israel in exchange for a few thousand metric tonnes of rice. Things have changed for the better now, and Israel and India cooperate a lot in many areas, includihng agriculture. But when India becams independent, it didn’t have the luxury to side with Israel.
The U.S. was the first aid provider to India in the 40s and 50s and probanly the anti-Israel lobbies in the U.S. controlled India’s stance on Israel. Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy oversaw the PL-480 scherme to provide surplus wheat to India, almost free of cost. But I am sure it requried the approval of all US Senators and Congresspeople. So, there was no choice for Indian lobbies in Washington DC but to win everyone’s support there.
But India wasn’t interested in depending on the USA forever. The Green Revolution in the 60’s and the White Revolution (dairy products) around the same time led to a quadrupling of foodgrains.
Today, India has its granaries full and it provides excess food supplies to many developing nations such as Egypt and Indonesia. It is currently the largest milk producer in the world. Since most Indians are vegetarians, butter and cheese are a staple here.
The reason India has been extremely successful in dairy operations is because of its traditionally intensive cattle farming (the only country that doesn’t raise cattle for beef). We have also used Israeli agricultural technology. The Jews of Israel have been extremely helpful in technology transfer to enable India increase its dairy production even in desert and arid areas.
The factory farms in the West which slaughter cows really underuse their pptential for milk production. Thankfully, India also has its own organic, natural way to raise cattle. Once the bovines stop milking, they’re retired for good as cattle here are treated just like people. They have a national ID to prevent smuggling.
The milk produced in India is free from stress-inducing hormones which are common with the factory farms of the West. Pakistan and Bangladesh, in comparison, being Muslims, consumed all their cows, and they now have to make do with imported milk powder as they just could not recreate a sustainable dairy industry in the last 75 years.
I am not against anyone eating beef. I just think they should do it in a sustainable way. The manner in which Brazil’s Amazon rainforests are being destroyed for beef production is against the nature. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are too stupid to do anything sustainably.
It’s always a good thing that Indians are not beef eaters otherwise it would have contributed a lot to global climate impact. The fact that there’s a strong religious taboo in Hinduism does help matters.
I’m not a vegetarian but I rarely eat any beef. I actually visited India for a few days back in the late 70’s on my way home from Japan where I was a student.
I wouldn’t sell the f’ing moslames of Indonesia and Egypt pig dung much less anything useful. If you have business dealings w/islamic states you’ve already been compromised.
I’m an equal opportunity hater when it comes to the moslame death cult.
I’ve met Soddy Barbarian bastards who smiled to my face but I’m sure if they knew what I think of them and their death cult they would’ve happily slit my throat.
U S is damned if it don’t and dammed if it it does maybe it was a mistake to enact the Marshall Plan half of the critic’s would not have made it into the twenty first century having free choice to despise the hand that got them there .
Well, at east Trump has some balls in dealing with the incredibly corrupt UN and its subdivisions. Here inCanada our politicians do not share a gonad among the lot of them.
Hopefully, Trump will get us out of the U.N., and then get the U.N. out of the U.S. A Congressional Resolution, and a Presidential Executive Order, would also be excellent if it stated, that the U.S. does not, repeat not recognize their jurisdiction, and they have no standing to control any State, Country, or citizens of said United States of America. Wishful thinking, I know, but you would never see a Democrat even entertain such a thought.

The UN was created to prevent future conflicts and encourage world peace. They are not doing that. Evict them now!
Good news and, of course, getting out of the UN all together would be even better.

Yet India is one of Israel’s stronger allies now.

1947 was the partition of the greater India into todays India and east and west Pakistan.

I doubt he could get Congress to go along with that. OTOH, we did get rid of the League of Nations a long time ago.
The United States never joined the League of Nations. Wilson’s wife, the acting president at that time, was very disappointed.

Thanks. Didn’t know that.
The United States Congress passed the United Nations Participation Act on December 20, 1945.
This simply established that the US would designate a member/ambassador and other similar vagaries.
Wouldn’t take much to overturn that Act.
