Bacon is hardly healthy from a salt standpoint alone, it has loads of fat too. I try to avoid eating bacon, but I in no way support banning it.

Muslims are hypocrites. What the ancients meant by “unclean” is anything unclean as being, for example, very bloody, a common occurrence after animals were hunted and then slaughtered. The Muslims falsely protray themselves as being spiritual, but if they really were concerned about eating “cleanly” , they would not eat meat from halal (brutally butchered) slaughtered animals. The Muslims can complain about bacon and pork from pigs, but meat from lamb, cows, chickens, etc. comes from “unclean” bloody dead animals that the Muslims eat. If the Muslims were really spiritual, they would not eat fish, meat, or eggs like pious Buddhists and Jains and even certain Christians.

Recently, in the supermarket I frequent, they just put up a small halal meat section. I’ve heard if you put some packages of pork product in that section, Muslims won’t buy anything in there. Good idea.

To tell the truth the War of Independence was much more dicey for Israel than the Yom Kippur War. A substantial number of Israel’s forces in the War of Independence were civilian refugees from Europe. Bacon is loaded w/fat and salt, as the bacon grease you get from cooking bacon makes pretty clear. Even spam has tons of fat and salt.
