During WWII, the Allied forces didn’t attempt to “occupy” Dresden, a city of mostly civilian population, they carpet bombed it. Hairy-Ass Truman didn’t order American troops to “occupy” Hiroshima or Nagasaki, he nuked those two cities with mostly civilian populations.
Why “occupy” Gaza City when carpet bombing it would result in the desired results? Carpet Bomb Gaza City (CBGC).
Carpet bombing would be a bad PR move for Israel, but considering the crap the degenerate, atheist, rotten, corrupt atheist West heaps on Israel for defending her people now, why not? It’s not like the moslames/communist atheists will hate Israel any less or more for that matter.
Minimally, I hope Israel defines a no-mans land along their border w/Gaza. A no-mans land filled w/landmines and guarded by machine guns and/or electric fences. Maybe with the additional proviso that any underground tunnels into Israel constitute an act of war.

I’m not in favor of Prime Minister Netanyahu pulling a Hairy-Ass Truman and nuking Gaza City, but I believe a campaign of carpet bombing would be in order.
By doing so, Israel might end up losing any and all support of the degenerate, corrupt, atheist West. Israel doesn’t really have an air force that could carry out such a role. They have no heavy bombers (e.g. the B-51 or B1). OTOH, why bother attacking Gaza from the air? Israeli artillery can range every part of Gaza, perhaps they could bring back the rolling artillery barrages of WW2 while giving their artillerymen much needed practice.
