There is increasing doubt whether Jesus even ever existed.The Roman archives of the period make absolutely no mention of Jesus, his followers, his family. Is Jesus just a made up tale contrived by the gospel writers? Suspicions are high.

I’d think Josephus would be the most accurate historian of events in Israel, after all, he lived there and fought against the Romans in one of the Jewish revolts against the rule of the degenerate, kiddy diddling Romans. He was apparently a kind of captain of a fortified tower and was only captured by the Romans because he was seriously wounded and all the other men under his command dead. Why the Romans saved him rather than killing him is anyone’s guess, but maybe Josephus could speak/read/write Latin.
The Romans not killing someone is hardly in keeping w/their rep. I’m guessing the Romans stole all their technology and knowledge from the Greeks when they conquered them.
What surprises me is that the ancient Chinese invented gunpowder AND rockets AND primitive firearms yet they never tried to refine any of this tech into something more refined and deadly.

Similar to Saul of Tarsus, Josephus was a Roman citizen. He could write in Hebrew, Latin, and what we call “ancient Greek”.
I still have no idea as to why the Romans didn’t kill him.
