Back before I left the “Big Island” (USA) for close to a couple of decades, I used to go to the range with a former IDF officer. Guy did all of those funky drills, dodging from one station to another, holstering and redrawing, reloading … a lot of bang-bang-bang. He was damned good with a sidearm.
I took him to New Pioneer Gun Club to shoot some skeet. We were going to do a normal “tournament day” type of shoot. Four rounds with 12 ga., four rounds with 20 ga, four rounds with 28 ga. and four rounds with .410.
His first round, I loaned him my Krieghoff, which was my fave and I shot with an old Browning Liege. I ran the first round (25 straight). He scored ONE. He thought that he had the hang of it and was ready for the second round. He did improve (3 out of 25). I didn’t run ’em, but I did powder 24. That was enough for him. I told him to stick to his run ‘n gun pistol crap.
But, I digress. This man trained in some funky martial art, “Krag” something or other. He was, as they used to say, “One bad dude”.
I was in my late thirties and he was early fiftyish. If he was a professor and some pussy-ass little keffiyeh wearing punk were to have tried that with him, there wouldn’t have been enough left of him to send home to his momma (brood sow).
