The foundry where the original Liberty Bell was made was there, the area is also infamous for Jack the Ripper, the Kray Twins, and the seige of Sidney Street, but more importantly, Cable Street is where a large group of people stopped a march by Oswald Moseley and his British Union of Fascists in the 1930’s.
