The media are reporting little more than this:
ABC News Nuno F.G. Loureiro, 47, was found Monday night at his house in the upscale Boston suburb of Brookline. He was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on Tuesday, the Norfolk District Attorney’s office said.
The DA’s office said the homicide investigation is ongoing. Brookline Police Chief Jennifer Paster said the department will have a police presence in the neighborhood as the investigation continues.
The university said Loureiro was a “faculty member in the departments of Nuclear Science & Engineering and Physics, as well as the Director of MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center.” The accomplished scientist joined the MIT faculty in 2016 and “quickly became known as an imaginative scholar, gifted administrator and enthusiastic mentor,” MIT President Sally Kornbluth said in a statement.
But a post on “X” led me to search alternative media sources, such as the Hindustan Times (see video below), which does present information that reveals the professor’s religion and Israel connection.

The mere fact that he was living in Brookline, a Jewish enclave on the outskirts of Boston, suggested to me that he was indeed Jewish. Israel, without giving any details, suggested that this was an Iranian sponsored hit. If so, the US has a big bone to pick with the Ayatollah, to the point where his days and that of the IRGC and the Quds Force are numbered.
One can only hope. But if anyone can get rid of him, it’s Trump.
