As a Brit who is a Naturalized American Citizen I can tell you that the expression in the UK of ”kicking off” would be like the average American saying ” We are gonna start some shit”.

Let them kick off – do they not realise that the more they make noise and protest, the more they promote a political system called Islam, the more likely it is that the majority, the native British population, will push back. It is time for the water cannon and tear gas – use the military if necessary.
I don’t see much signs of the pushback. In 25 years or less, you will have a Muslim PM, I fear. Americans are pushing back on Islam now, but only because Trump is in office, and supports them. If a Democrat becomes President next time, they’ll start jailing people who protest Islam.

It came from how i see British people as being too dumb to look after themselves or see danger, so going to a place where people all have to know how to be careful or know what they’re doing to survive is the solution

In Britain the language keeps becoming more baffling and a lot less sophisticated as time goes on.

In British football – Americans call it “soccer” – the game begins with a “kick-off” following the toss of a coin to determine which team will begin the game with that first kick. Since the ball may not ever be picked up or carried but only may be kicked with a foot, to maneouvre it past defenders to score goals the game is one of footwork and being adept in that particular skill.
Thus what we see referred to here is the weakling police being afraid that any strong and proper action by them against wrongdoers, can result in violent resistance.
This weak attitude to their sworn duty however is not new at all! Ranulph Twickenham-Fiennes wrote a book titled “The Feathermen” 50 or more years ago where he highlighted the shocking ineptitude and appeasement by London Metropolitan police of particularly “Yardies”.
