“ASHURA,” that joyous time of year when Shia Muslims beat themselves bloody. Slashing themselves with chained blades, bloodied Shi’ite Muslims, including very young boys flagellate themselves to mark the death of the Prophet’s grandson. Even babies are bloodied.
Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammed, was killed by armies of the caliph Yazid in 680 AD. He was said to be decapitated and his body mutilated in the battle at Karbala, now in Iraq, Reuters reports.
As is custom, the crowds — many of the them hordes of shirtless men — re-enacted the killing of Hussein, hitting their backs with knife-covered chains and cutting their heads with swords, even though the self-flagellation traditions have been banned by some members of the Shiite clergy.
No longer confined to just Muslim countries, sadistic rituals like this are now being practiced by Muslims in France and the UK, and soon the U.S.,among others.

This is called “Matam” which means mourning or “Sina-zani” which literally means chest beating.
Shia women engage in these acts of loud mourning to protest against perceived oppression or the death of political/religious leaders (I think this video is for Khomenei), often accompanied by slogans.
Like the men, women may resort to extreme self-flagellation with chains or knives. However, the general practice focuses on emotional, often loud, lamentation.

In the mountains of Peshawar Sunni moslame terrorists, probably Afghani, stopped buses on a mountain pass and had all the men take off their shirts to examine their backs, if there was any evidence of flagellation the men were executed — not that I care one whit because either group of moslame psychopaths would kill me for my criticisms of their Jew hating, psychopathic death cult.
