Muslim student sues Michigan school over teacher’s negative reaction to her refusal to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance for several days because of her opposition to “America’s role in the Israel-Gaza war.” The student was accused of being disrespectful to the US military and flag, and told to “go back to your country,” by the teacher, according to court papers.
METRO Times (h/t Nita) The notorious Islam-sympathizing ACLU of Michigan and the Arab American Civil Rights League filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools District and one of its teachers, alleging a Palestinian American student’s constitutional rights were violated when she was repeatedly humiliated for refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Danielle Khalaf, a U.S. citizen whose family is of Palestinian descent, told the AP that she declined to stand for or recite the Pledge for three days in January in protest of U.S. support for Israel in the Jewish state’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Khalaf, who is being represented in the lawsuit by her father, “believes that the deaths caused by the Israeli Defense Forces in Palestine were financially supported, and either implicitly or expressly supported, by the U.S. government,” according to the suit.
Carissa Sorano, the East Middle School teacher who has also been named in the ACLU lawsuit individually and in her official capacity as a teacher employed by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, told Khalaf during class that her decision to remain seated was “disrespectful to U.S. military forces and the flag,” the lawsuit states.
WRONG, they all must be kicked out and that from the country that they invaded , send them back to where they came from and that with a red burning backside.

They settled the lawsuit by agreeing to pay $10,000 and agreeing to “First Amendment Training”

That attorney just made her whole medical and psychiatric history and educational history public record and fair game for her deposition and the trial (if it ever gets to that). The defense will ask for authorizations to obtain all her records from every psychiatrist, psychologist and mental health professional that she has seen. They will do the same for all of her physicians. Ditto for her entire academic record.
My guess is that she never saw a mental health professional, and she saw a physician only for routine checkups and maybe if she had a cold or the flu. I’ll bet that there is nothing in there concerning physical ailments that could be tied to her alleged mental state. Also, I’ll bet that she did not do substantially worse in her courses.
The little young Muslim school girl may also had seen a Muslim physician who was sympathetic to her and Anti-American and Anti-Western Civilization.
