In a groundbreaking medical feat, Israeli physicians performed a surgery to reattach the head of a 12-year-old Arab Muslim boy, Suleiman Hassan, to his neck, after a horrific bike accident left him internally decapitated. And what do you want to bet that this miraculous surgery was done free of charge to the family?
Business Today (h/t Nita) The boy, Suleiman Hassan, was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a car. The impact of the collision caused his head to be severed from his body. The severity of the injury was such that the ligaments holding the rear base of his skull were severely damaged, leaving it disconnected from the top vertebrae of his spine – officially known as a bilateral atlanto occipital joint dislocation.
The boy was airlifted to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he underwent a 12-hour surgery to reattach his head. The surgery was led by Dr. Ohad Einav, a neurosurgeon at Hadassah.
The doctors fought for Hassan’s life in the operating room, using innovative technology and new plates and fixations in the damaged area. Their expertise and quick decision-making played a crucial role in saving the boy’s life. Einav further mentioned that his team faced an additional challenge because of the patient’s age.
“(The) large size of a child’s head relative to an adult means they are more susceptible. This is not a common surgery at all, and especially not on children and teens.
This week, Suleiman was released from the hospital. Suleiman’s father, who did not leave his son’s bedside during his recovery, said: “I will be grateful for my life for saving my dear only son. Bless you all. Thanks to you, he regained his life even when the odds were low and the danger was obvious. What saved him were professionalism, technology and quick decision-making by the trauma and orthopaedics team. All I can say is a big thank you.”
The surgery took place in June, but the results were not made public until July. “The fact that such a child has no neurological deficits or sensory or motor dysfunction and that he is functioning normally and walking without an aid after such a long process is no small thing,” Einav further added.
It will be interesting to see how this kid’s life turns out. Good or………bad. Peaceful or……terrorist.
It’s 50/50. Did a story several years ago about a Palestinian whose life was saved by Israeli doctors, who then came back to the hospital and tried to bomb it.
How good is that but I can’t help wondering how many protests the father has taken his son on calling for the destruction of Israel and how many more he will be attending. How many times has he gone to the mosque and agreed with the Imam when he has called Muslim terrorists heros after they have killed Israelis especially women and children.
There are literally thousands of Palestinians who have received state-of-the-art medical care from Israels.But they still hate their guts.
Why would they bother? chances are very good he will be a terrorist soon.
This is an amazing surgery that was done on this Arab Muslim boy by medical doctors in the nation of Israel. The problem with Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar is that their hatred of Jewish people and the nation of Israel is an irrational hatred based on the ideology of Islam that they believe and hold on to. Because this hatred is based on the ideology of Islam their hatred of Israel and the Jewish people will never change, no matter how much evidence of good done for the people of the world is done by Israel and the Jewish people. The only way for this hatred to change is for Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib to renounce and abandon Islam. There are a few courageous ex muslims that have done this, since Islam has the death penalty for leaving Islam.
Where is the news industry in the United States? Were this miraculous event to have taken place somewhere in the West, the news would have spread like wildfire. It is like when the Israeli government offered a few years ago life saving technology to places like Iran and Sudan such as extracting water literally from the air, the old adage about the silence being deafening is so applicable. The Iranian government said no but how many Americans ever read about the offer?
