On Rosh Hashanah, Jews around the world bless one another with the Hebrew words L’shanah Tovah Tikateiv Veteichateim, which in English translates: “May you be inscribed and sealed in the book of life for a another good year.” Rosh Hashanah 2023, which is year 5784 in the Hebrew calendar, began at sundown on Friday, Sept. 15th. At its core, it is the teaching that God gives you second chances and invites everyone to do the same.

Wishing all a happy 5784. There is no one more benevolent than a benevolent Jew. Let me also quote Winston Churchill: “Some people like the Jews, and some do not. But no thoughtful man can deny the fact that they are, beyond any question, the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has appeared in the world.” L’shanah Tovah Tikateiv Veteichateim.

Shanan Tovah to you and your family.
My inner Muslim boils in anger at the idea of a continuous belief system that is at least 5784 years old.
I was taught from childhood that the Prophets Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Moses were all MOSLEMS. 😋😋😋
So, when the Jews even celebrate their annual new year, it automatically invalidates everything written in the Quran.
That’s why so many Muslim countries ban the Jews from arriving at the airport.
So that little Abdul and little Fatima do not learn of the Jews existence.
Except as the evil despots and greedy tyrants running global media and corporations.

Sayak

Thanks. I didn’t think there were any airports in any countries that banned Jews from arriving. Or are you talking about anyone with an Israeli passport?
Ghulam says
Yep, both.
Many Muslim countries ban Israeli passport holders from arriving, but they may also not be very welcoming to people who wear Jewish regalia: star of David, Orthodox Jewish garb.
Of course, they can’t tell secular Jews. They may enter at their own risk.
BTW, you said you could read Japanese. I’m thinking of getting a Japanese tattoo — it’s spelled Sayaku/Sayak, and looks like the following:
サヤック
It’s supposed to mean intelligent and smart.
Just let me know if it isn’t FEMININE — I understand Japanese has feminine derivatives for each word, so Sayaku/Sayak/Sayaka (the last one is feminine, correct?)
I don’t have the time or patience to learn the language. Just need a cool tattoo.
BareNakedIslam says
Don’t do it. If it’s the saiyaku I think it is, it means bad luck or disaster. But it’s hard to tell because it is written in katakana which is the Japanese way of writing foreign words. In any case, if you want a Japanese tattoo, you need to get one in kanji which are used for Japanese nouns, verbs, etc. The characters look like Chinese, which were the basis for what Japanese became. Not Japanese added katakana for foreign words and hiragana for verb endings conjunctions, etc. Tell me what you want the tattoo to say and I’ll send you some options in kanji characters. The word Sayaka is a woman’s name.

I got this one from a real Japanese lady who lives in Kyoto. She probably gave me Katakana because of communication misunderstandings….
Anyway I need anything that says “Learned, intelligent, smart”, yes something in Kanji would be nice.

OK, do you want me to send it to your email that you use here?
