I really don’t believe this repeated narrative of the thousands of civilians having died in Gaza. First, because these numbers come only from Palestinian sources and cannot be verified. Second, because we have proof (the Al Ahli hospital incident) how grossly the Palestinians inflate the numbers. Third, because we know that Palestinians take advantage of their casualties and like to show them, and we haven’t seen such huge numbers. Fourth, the IDF are very careful not to harm civilians. Having said that, I don’t mean that people have not died, and very sadly, a lot of children among them. And honestly, even one innocent death is too much. We all wish things could be different. But to say that there are 10,000 dead, I don’t believe it, even though Hamas has worked towards that.
