Several thousand mostly non-Jewish Germans demonstrated against anti-Semitism in Berlin on Sunday as Germany grapples with a large increase in anti-Jewish incidents following Hamas’ attack on Israel two months ago.
Breitbart (h/t Nita) Police estimated that around 3,200 people gathered in the rain in the German capital, while organizers put the figure at 10,000, German news agency dpa reported. Participants in the protest, titled “Never again is now,” marched to the Brandenburg Gate.
A group tracking antisemitism in Germany said in late November that it had documented a drastic increase in antisemitic incidents in the month after Hamas’ attack – a total of 994, an increase of 320% compared with the same period a year earlier..
Among the 994 antisemitic incidents, there were three cases of extreme violence, 29 attacks, targeted damage to 72 properties, 32 threats, four mass mailings and 854 cases of offensive behavior. In one of the most severe antisemitic crimes, a synagogue in Berlin was attacked on Oct. 18.
There was also a rise in antisemitic and anti-Israeli propaganda at universities in Germany, with a total of 37 incidents logged by RIAS. Jewish students reported cases in which fellow students blamed them personally for Israel´s politics. Some of them stopped attending classes for fear of being attacked.
Germany’s labor minister, Hubertus Heil, said that many decent people are too quiet on the issue. “We don’t need a decent, silent majority – we need a clear and loud majority that stands up now, and not later,” he said.
The event had wide support, with the speaker of the German parliament and Berlin’s mayor also among its backers.
While Germany’s government has been one of Israel’s staunchest supporters following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and the subsequent Gaza war, there were outbreaks of violence at several street protests, in Berlin especially.
What I love here is the Germans are saying citizenship should only be granted to those who accept Israel. That will cancel out all Muslums! Of course, they will lie though…

Should the others want a demo then there are over 10.000 in just about a half an hour there making the demo so where are the many. These people are pretty brave to do this in berlin but as long as the green and left politicians are there then the others tolerate the demo and thats it. here is nothing that is ours anymore. The german dont go out at night and he is very carefull as to what he says in the open space because he will be attacked either from the others or the politics and that imediatly.Its good to see this but its not enough! then there should be thousands more.

No one hates Islam more than I but your statement that infers Muslims are other than white is incorrect. If one travels to the Middle East, he/she will find that the people are white and that hadith has it that Muhammad was the whitest of white. Also, black people in America are mostly Christian and many attend church services on Sunday.

I am sorry but I worked at the US Embassy in Kabul in 2002, from 2006 to 2008 in Baghdad where I not only worked at the Embassy but I traveled throughout the country which also included working with a number of local communities assisting them build their internet infrastructure. Ray: Maybe you have a different idea of what “white” is. I’ve lived in the Middle East & most people there are brown. I also doubt Mohammed was truly white because first of all, he lived in Saudi Arabia as a native, also I found Arabs usually refer to a light brown person as “white”. It is white to them, but not white to a European.
