Starting in Germany with an assault on a Santa Claus figure and escalating to a recent arson attack in Italy, these incidents point to a growing hostility towards Christian festivities.
RAIR Foundation The unsettling series of events began in Kassel, Germany, where Rainer B., a 54-year-old man dressed as Santa Claus, faced a violent encounter. While disembarking from a tram near Stern en route to Königsplatz, Rainer was accosted by a group of Muslim migrant teenagers. The assailants, believed to be around 15 years old, hurled derogatory names at him, physically attacked him, and demanded he remove his Santa costume, claiming, “This is our land.”
The altercation resulted in Rainer’s costume being torn, and he sustained injuries after one of the teenagers grabbed him by the neck. In an act of self-defense, Rainer struck one of the youths with a rod traditionally carried by figures depicting St. Nicholas.
Following the Kassel incident, a more macabre attack occurred on December 17th, 2023, in Rüsselsheim, Hesse. In front of a church next to the Christmas market, a nativity scene in the town’s marketplace was grotesquely vandalized. The life-sized figures of Joseph, Mary, and the Three Wise Men were decapitated, an act bearing the hallmarks of execution methods used against non-believers in Islam.
Some of the figures also had their hands severed, and all the figures, from the baby Jesus to the three kings and the donkey, were thrown over and damaged. This chilling assault not only targeted Christian religious symbols but also struck at the essence of European cultural traditions.
The pattern of attacks against Christmas symbols took a more dangerous turn in Italy, where an Islamic migrant reportedly set a nativity scene and a church on fire. This act of arson represents an alarming escalation in the nature and severity of these attacks. The destruction of these religious and cultural symbols in a sacred space has deeply shocked and distressed the Christian community and broader society.
The suspect, a 30-year-old armed Moroccan Muslim man, engaged in a destructive targeted attack inside the historic church, causing massive damages amounting to thousands of euros.
The Muslim migrant, reportedly entered the church armed with an axe. He spent over twenty minutes inside, initially targeting the church’s historic organ. Witnesses and security camera footage revealed that the man broke the organ pipes dating back to the 17th century before turning his attention to the nativity scene.
Using a container of flammable liquid he had in his pocket, he doused the nativity scene and set it on fire. This act destroyed the nativity scene and caused significant damage to other parts of the church, including some benches.
The damage to the church is extensive, with the smoke blackening the ceiling and completely ruining the frescoes. While the exact cost of the damages is unknown, estimates suggest it could be in the tens of thousands of euros.
This incident has drawn strong reactions from local political figures. Silvia Scurati, a regional councilor for the Northern League, described the act as “a gesture of unprecedented violence” and questioned the nature of integration and respect for Christian symbols.
Similarly, Fabrizio Cecchetti, another member of the Northern League, emphasized the symbolic and destructive nature of the episode. Mayor Raffaele Cucchi of Parabiago condemned the attack as “cowardly and uncivilized,” noting the significant impact on the community, especially during Christmas.
Not only is there a party in Belgium just for Muslims, called the Islam Party, Belgian politicians turn a blind eye to Muslim terrorism, crime, and unauthorized extremist mosques in their cities.
Islam is the second largest religion in Belgium after Christianity. The exact number of Muslims in Belgium is unknown but various sources estimate that 4.0% to 7.6% of the country’s population adheres to Islam.

What has not been talked about is that for the first time in forty years, Brussels will not present a live animal manger for its Nativity Scene in the Grand Plaz. I find this so sad as when I worked at NATO, my family would always visit the site. It was such a feeling of warmth even in the coldest of weather. For the children being forbidden to feel good and learn about the birth of our Savior is a true tragedy.

Our children dont have to learn about christmas or our religion because when our politics have their way, our beliefs and traditions are all for the trashcan and all our children must know is where to raise their asses and how to be a good muslim.
