NATO member Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan backs terror group Hamas, while referring to Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israel government “today’s Nazis.”
NY PostTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke out in support of Hamas Saturday, decrying claims that the group is a terror organization and insisting that his government stands behind it.
“No one can make us qualify Hamas as a terrorist organization,” Erdogan, 70, insisted during a speech in Istanbul. “Turkey is a country that speaks openly with Hamas leaders and firmly backs them.”
Erdogan also slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, which started when Hamas launched a deadly terror attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7th.
“Netanyahu and his administration, with their crimes against humanity in Gaza, are writing their names next to Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin, like today’s Nazis,” he scoffed. Erdogan’s comments were all the more concerning due to Turkey’s status as a NATO member.

Turkey is a terrorist shithole! When I went on holiday to Turkey last year, I was warned by a government agency that my safety was at risk if I wore any Israeli or Jewish symbols.

That is complete nonsense. When Mustafa Kemal Atatürk became the Turkish leader soon after WWI, Turkey was a partner with Europe and an ally during WWII. Until Erdogan won the election, no religious party was permitted to govern and was known as the Atatürk in accordance with the Kemalist and Erdogan had many top military leaders imprisoned and many others fled. This is not to say that Turkey had no problems but it was a solid partner. Having worked with their military back in the 1980s at NATO, I gained a lot of respect for their military at the time.

Yet Turkey refused to allow our military jets to refuel there during the Iraq war. So what good are they?
