Vatican News According to the report “Martyred Christians in Nigeria” issued by Intersociety, over the past 14 years at least 52,250 Nigerian Christians have been brutally murdered at the hands of Islamic militants, more than 30,000 of whom during the eight-year presidency of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, often criticized during his tenure for not doing enough to combat growing insecurity in the country.
In the same period 18,000 Christian churches and 2,200 Christian schools were set ablaze. Christians risk their lives not only at the hands of Boko Haram, but also of ethnic Fulani Muslim herders who have joined Islamist extremist groups.
The attacks have led to mass forcible displacement. About 5 million Christians have been displaced and forced into Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps within Nigeria and refugee camps at regional and sub-regional borders, the Intersociety report says.

I ALWAYS wonder why it is that LEGITIMATE refugees never get to apply for asylum in the Western nation, and even if they do, it is the military aged militant males following an evil cult who get precedence over them? Whether it is the persecuted Christians from Muslim lands, whether it is Christians from conflict regions like the Ukraine, Hindus being decimated in Bangladesh – they never get to emigrate from the conflict zones. As humble as that sounds …. The Christians are, predominately, a farming community. Their main staple is sorghum and due to the mohammedan creatures, there have set thousands of acres afire, by those foul, lowest of ALL creatures (moslems). It’s not just the burning of churches and murders of human beings, they are being starved to death.
