Another factor influencing the success of the American Revolution is that the British supply&communication lines were ~3500 miles long and it took a month or more to traverse that distance. By the time the British government even knew they had lost Boston they were already fighting in South Carolina. Just imagine if the British had sent reinforcements to Boston and found out it was already in American hands by the time they arrived in Boston harbor (since there was no radio communication back then).

I am writing to express my absolute alarm and disgust that the Department for Work and Pensions ‘Find a Job’ platform is currently advertising a position for a ‘Shariah Law Administrator’.
The requirements include a degree in Shariah Law and experience in Shariah Courts in Muslim countries.
The DWP (Dept of Work and Pnsions) is promoting and facilitating the embedding of a parallel legal system in the United Kingdom.
Shariah law has no place operating as a recognised legal framework within our country. It is fundamentally incompatible with British law, and our very way of life.
For a government department to effectively endorse and promote such a role raises serious questions.
– Why is a UK government platform hosting recruitment for a position explicitly tied to administering Shariah law in Britain?
– Has the DWP assessed the legal and constitutional implications of promoting a role linked to a parallel legal system?
– Will the Department immediately remove this advertisement and review its vetting process for all roles posted to ‘Find a Job’?
– Who approved its posting? Will there be consequences for said individual?
Britain has one law for all, and that is not negotiable. We must say no to Shariah law, in all of its forms.
I expect an immediate explanation of how this was allowed to happen and what action you will take to ensure the promotion of Shariah-linked roles by government ends TODAY. Not after summer recess, but today.

i’ve read some interesting stories about Russian “tourism” off the East coast of Africa. They have cruise ships that have fully automatic weapons on-board and they trail their coattails along the coast of Somalia until some pirates take the bait.
