Realise that it is common knowledge in Australia that without migration the economy would be in recession. So it is in the interests of the 2 major political parties to import people from where ever they can. Polling shows that about 60% of Australians want migration reduced. But they are ignored. This is purely because if there is a deliberate(big cut to migration) recession the party in power would loose power. Politicians’ self interest will determine what happens.
