Despite the horrifying true story of an American woman and her daughter trapped in Iran by her Muslim husband, portrayed in the 1991 film starring Sally Field, Not Without My Daughter, an Australian woman suffered a similar experience after marrying an Egyptian Muslim man and taking her daughter to visit his family in Egypt.
Below is the Sally Field film trailer:
60 Minutes reports the terrible plight of two Australian citizens: Amaal Finn and her young daughter Zareen, who were trapped in Cairo for nearly three years by her Egyptian Muslim husband who remained in Australia.
Amaal Yasmin Finn, 37, and her seven-year-old daughter Zareen had been trapped in Egypt since the child’s Egyptian-born father, Mazen Hassan Baioumy, had the ban imposed in 2013. Ms Finn has said she was tricked by Mr Baioumy into signing documents in Arabic, which she could not read, believing they would grant her Egyptian residency.
Instead, the ban, with Zareen’s name registered on an official immigration list, prevented the child from leaving the country with her mother who had been cleared to travel. After almost three years of legal action, an Egyptian appeals court handed down its verdict on February 24 clearing the way for the child to leave Egypt.
Amaal revealed to Daily Mail Australia that she and her daughter have been living in hiding after repeated death threats from her ex-husband’s family.

Hes an Egyptian living in Australia and she is an Australian “living” in fear in Egypt, something is seriously wrong with this story as there is an Australian Embassy in Cairo so why is she not taken by the Embassy and flown back to Australia, meanwhile the Egyptian guy living the life of Riley in Australia should be arrested for kidnapping and deported after Prison time.
She has that rag on her head wrapped way too tight that she cant see the cause of her current situation.
I wondered the same thing, Andrew.
Almost always, with the rare exception, those women in Canada who have married Moslem men, have come to regret their actions eventually. They invariably end up being abused and/ or their children being abducted so the they be raised in proper Islamic households to avoid being contaminated by Christianity. WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN?
This woman hasn’t made the connection yet with Islam and the horrors of living in an Islamic society. She probably thinks it is the ‘Egyptian customs’. If she were to realize what she was fighting was Islamic law, she’d tear that headscarf off in a heartbeat. Somebody needs to suggest to her that Allah is not God.
This is a fate many European women married to a Muslim from the Middle East or Maghreb shared and still do as of today. On another example it took a German mother 8 (!) years to escape from Lebanon with her daughter.
Moreover, many Muslim fathers abducted their children from their mothers in the host countries and took them back to their home countries – where they are kept out of reach for their desperate mothers.
Back in the 80’s when Betty Mahmoody married her “Americanized” Muslim and became trapped in the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian Islamic takeover there was a better excuse for allowing oneself to be charmed by these men. Two of the most “sensible”, hardheaded women I knew got taken in by younger (non-Muslim) “dreamer” types looking for a Green Card to marry. Now there is no excuse, except for the blame that may justly be heaped on the Left and the MSM for providing cover to these predators.
If you haven’t read Betty Mahmoody’s “Not Without My Daughter” (1987) or seen the excellent movie produced before the CAIR types silenced Leftard Hollywood about the evils of Islam, don’t miss this pre-“Islamophobia”-censored expose of the realities of marriage to a Muslim.
Yes, everyone should see this.
The woman converted to Islam many years ago, evident from her two teenagers (from another Muslim male).
It’s depressing and disturbing that the Australian woman raised her teenagers in Australia to be devout Muslims and honour the cruel, dark death god of savage barbarian, warlord Mohammad. A severe and tragic assault on their souls which her teenagers don’t deserve.
Her teenage daughter shows to the world how proud she is of Islam. She proudly wears the Islamic head covering to display to everyone her devotion to the Muslim god.
Is there no one to tell her teenagers that the HOLY ONE, our Awesome, Wonderful Creator LOVES them and CARES about them?
The Muslim convert, her parents and teenagers are all successfully brainwashed. The horrors and cruelty of Islam and constant Muslim terror attacks that are reported, apparently has no effect on them. If they were questioned about Islam, they would all fiercely defend Islam and say how GOOD Islam is.
Islam is the chosen religion tfrom God to human beings. It is the salvation. Whatever evil people does is because of their own weaknesses. That’s why there is heaven and hell.
Rose, you have definitely landed on the wrong website for that kind of thinking.
No sympathy whatsoever for the woman.
“Not Without My Daughter” could never be made today because of pc.
I wish I could feel pity for her, but with her all wrapped up in her shroud, and on top of it, she had married and divorced another frigging Muslim? Nope. No pity at all.
Really! Marrying a second time to another Muslim shows the woman learned absolutely nothing from her initial experience. Np pity for the female at all!
Also, the American author, feminist Phyllis Chesler married a muslim, Iranian I believe. She wrote about it, ugly story, Interestingly, she later? had an Israeli husband (boyfriend) while living in the US. I know this for a fact, as I was acquainted with an Israeli male friend of the young man. Not positive if she actrually married the Israeli. He was quite a bit younger than she.
She married a slime from Afghanistan, not Iran.
Those women do not listen. However, I blame heavily the MSM for hushing information about the horrible Islam and the suffering of many ‘infidels’ around the world by Muslims.
FB refuses to let me post anything about what the muslims are doing in other countries. They delete everything I post if it is from barenakedislam.
Marianne, don’t include the BNI URL with your FB posts. Just use the original source URL.
Outsmarting FakeBook has become one ot the little secret pleasures of life!
I would imagine. So glad I never got involved with FB.
And I thought there may be something wrong with me since I don’t have facebook either.
I joined many years ago, but was turned off immediately with all the friends requests. So I deleted my account. Never went back.
In Chapel Hill there are many many WiFi sites BLOCKING barenakedislam. The ones in charge don’t want facts and information to get out .. to be known.
