Why Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman should have been praised for green lighting the execution of Osama bin Laden ally, Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi

On Tuesday, President Trump addressed questions about Khashoggi’s death, stating, “Whether you like him or didn’t like him, things happen.” He dismissed questionable U.S. intelligence findings that suggested the crown prince likely had some culpability in the killing.

And if  Crown Prince bin Salman did have culpability, he had more than enough justification for it. (See links below video)

Daniel Greenfield The fate of Khashoggi has provoked global outrage, but it’s for all the wrong reasons. We are told he was a liberal, Saudi progressive voice fighting for freedom and democracy, and a martyr who paid the ultimate price for telling the truth to power. Sorry, no, he wasn’t.

In high school, Jamal Khashoggi had a good friend. His name was Osama bin Laden.“We were hoping to establish an Islamic state anywhere,” Khashoggi reminisced about their time together in the Muslim Brotherhood. “We believed that the first one would lead to another, and that would have a domino effect which could reverse the history of mankind.”

In truth, Khashoggi never had much time for western-style pluralistic democracy. In the 1970s he joined the Muslim Brotherhood, which exists to rid the Islamic world of western influence. He was a political Islamofascist until the end, recently praising the Muslim Brotherhood in the Washington Post.

Khashoggi frequently sugarcoated his Islamofascist beliefs with constant references to freedom and democracy. But he never hid that he was in favor of a Muslim Brotherhood arc throughout the Middle East. His recurring plea to Mohammed bin Salman in his columns was to embrace not western-style democracy, but the rise of political Islam which the Arab Spring had inadvertently given rise to. For Khashoggi, secularism was the enemy.
