I truly hate to criticize Thomas Jefferson, but it seems to me that after the trouble with the Barbary Pirates in the Mediterranean, he and the other Founders needed to take a second look at the 1st Amendment and revise it to openly state that it does not apply to any ideology or religion that calls for violent world conquest or in any way interferes with the peaceful expression of religious or nonreligious beliefs of others.
That would’ve been a great idea, it would’ve required a Constitutional Convention to pull off but it would’ve been worth it. If the Commiecrats seize the Senate, Congress and presidency you can kiss the US Constitution and Bill of Rights goodbye forever.
