Vile Muslim apologist and sympathizer, CJ Werleman, claims that India is trying to destroy 30,000 mosques there and that Americans are secretly helping to fund the demolition of all these mosques.
Even if that were true, it was Muslims in India, after all, who destroyed 30,000 Hindu temples and then built mosques on top of them (sounds very familiar – think Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem). Werleman also claims Hindus in America are spreading anti-Muslim hatred and that Americans are funding anti-Christian hatred in India. This guy is a real schmuck. If he’s so fond of Muslims, why doesn’t he become one? I wonder who’s paying him – CAIR?

As an Indian, I’d like to clarify.
So far only one mosque has been demolished & two more are likely to follow. These three temple sites are of critical importance to the Hindu faith as the birthplace of three of our Gods – like Jerusalem or Mecca
The 30k mosques have been identified as structures that were built by Mughal invaders who ruled India for 800 years, killed, maimed, subjugated us – forced people to convert to Islam. The Mughal rulers built those mosques by destroying Hindu temples. This is clearly evident by Archaeological Survey of India which show temple-like structures beneath these mosques. Which is why the Supreme Court allowed building the 1 temple. There is also literature available (Islamic & by western historians) which describe the destruction of temples in India & mosques built on top of them in the Mughal era.
For Muslims – a mosque is not a house of God. It is a place of congregation for prayers. Any building can be turned into a mosque. But a temple, is the house of God – or the house of deity present inside.
So it is a matter of Fundamental Right to Religion (Hindu side) vs Constitutional Right to Property (Muslim side). And fundamental right won over constitutional right after decades of legal struggle for the 1 mosque. Infact the Muslim side was handed double the size of land over which the mosque was built. So it was not exactly a loss for them. More likely a loss of pride & ego.
This one judgement has set precedent for the two other mosques. The remaining thousands are not a priority at the moment. Had the Muslim side relinquished claims for the three mosques, the Hindu-Muslim tensions in India may have not reached the scale it has reached today.
FYI – there are 300,000 mosques in India. One Hindu temple has been recently built by Saudi and they have been hailed as champions of minorities while India is always portrayed as an intolerant country by the Western media.

Most Indian Muslims including I were genuinely hurt by the “shahadat” of Babri Masjid.
I will never support desecrating the religious buildings of non-Muslims. I have been to Hindu temples before, and I admire the architecture and ambiance.
The desecration of Babri Masjid happened in our living memories. You can’t use the argument that it is fair revenge for Muslim invaders destroying many purported temples in the medieval ages.
What about Akbar or Muhammad Shah? They were Mughal rulers of India who sanctioned the building of many new Hindu temples. What about Tipu Sultan? Who was a great celebrator of the Hindu festival of Diwali?
While destroying those Hindu temples is worth condemnation, you cannot erase past wrongs by doing something wronger.
Less than two hundred years ago, your Hindu brothers used to chuck unwanted widows into funeral pyres. Can you use that as an argument for not procreating with Hindu males any more?
There was a lot of barbarism in the medieval times.But if you want to live in a civilized world today, you must tolerate other faiths and protect the minorities in your country.
Besides, Indian Muslims are well-integrated into Indian values. Many even participate in Hindu festivities.

Let’s get to the point.
Demolition of Babri masjid was more of a political move. It was wrong and shameful. Most of us never wanted this to happen. I apologise for the acts of the miscreants who desecrated the mosque. We should’ve waited for the law to take its course. (which took seven decades)
But your entire response is limited to the one mosque (writing the wrong by doing wrong) we are now past that. The question is now about the fate of thousands of mosques and as responsible, “secular” Hindus, we are writing the wrongs through legal means. Not by force. We are pursuing the legal route to get back what was ours.
About the kind & just Mughal rulers – while Akbar may have been an okay ruler, the same cannot be said about Tipu.
Muslims in the subcontinent are so immensely proud of their Mughal heritage. Apparently the Mughal culture, architecture, cuisine and whatnot justifies the killings, rape and torture inflicted on our forefathers, also on their forefathers.
Honestly do you really thing the Mughals were secular people like you & me ? They were okay with followers of idol worship which apparently is the biggest sin in Islam ? Did they really believe in “Live & Let Live” ?

Sikhi, Jainism & Buddhism originated in the Indian subcontinent and share some common spiritual beliefs with Hindu faith – karma and cycle of rebirth. Their religious leaders had a following here which eventually grew.
Can the same be said about the spread of Islam ? Can you deny that Islam was spread here at the point of sword ?
Yes, in the medieval times Hindus did have the evil cultural practice of burning widows alive with their dead husbands. But it had no religious basis. Our scriptures have no mention of such an evil practice. Why did this begin is still unclear.
A common theory is that, while some women voluntary chose to die without their husbands, this practice became more common in the Mughal times because of the unspeakable atrocities that befell on Hindu widows. Even multiple queens & concubines could not quench the lust of Islamic invaders. Besides, slavery is allowed in Islam right ?
Personally, I would choose to die than become a sex-slave. Just saying.
But yes, the evil practice of widow burning continued in some parts, even after the Mughal era and Hindu social reformers and the British govt brought an end to it. Thanks British ! No thanks Mughals !
Many Indian Muslims do celebrate our festivals with us. Hindu festivals are so colourful & enjoyable. I don’t mean to be rude, but I think that the only fun part about Muslim festivals & weddings is the “Biryani”.
I see Muslims praying on the streets, in the office parking, even inside long-distance express trains – a mosque is not integral to their faith, but a temple is vital to Hinduism. I wish my well-integrated Muslim brothers had shown their large heartedness by letting go of the three mosques which could’ve cemented our relations and we would’ve gladly let go of the 30 thousand mosques.
I used to love Shahrukh in my teens but not anymore. The same romantic songs and fighting the bad guys single-handedly, very basic storyline don’t interest me anymore. I don’t watch Bollywood movies but I know why you brought it up here in this mosque debate. Quite a lot of Indians who gave up their citizenship to settle abroad happen to be Muslims. The environment is become increasingly anti-Muslim.
That said I’ll always love my “watan.” I’d be looking to enroll my 6-year old son in an Islamic school in India. That way he’ll get to experience Indian culture first hand.
He speaks Urdu with me, and I’d want him to stay rooted and connected to his Indian side. (even though he’s only half-Indian).
